Isabelle Cornish

Isabelle Cornish has been crowned Australia’s Sexiest Vegetarian for 2013.

The Puberty Blues actress has been quite vocal in her beliefs about a plant-based diet and has even asked producers on the set of her hit show to occasionally make accommodations for it.

During a scene where she was asked to eat an meat pie on a beach, Isabelle ate a vegetarian version of the classic Australian dish.

“I was brought up on a property surrounded by animals,” said Isabelle. “I learned about their soft nature, and how loving and beautiful they are.”

Sophie Monk “The Hills Run Red” Nude Scene Helped By Veg Diet

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, October 23rd, 2009 in Actresses, Food & Drink.

Sophie Monk Needs A Refreshment After the Gym!

Sophie Monk has a new film out, The Hills Run Red, about the daughter of a horror film director.

At some point during the film, Sophie ends up naked and tied to a bed.

While some actresses would make a body double part of the contract, Sophie didn’t mind going natural for the cams at all.

After all, she still tries to stick to a vegetarian diet, according to celebrityhealthfitness.com.

“You’ve just got to make sure you’re in shape,” she said. “Most women would otherwise. I’ve been offered Playboy, but doing a film where it’s not me, I feel like it’s very different. That’s how I look at it.”

The Hills Run Red is available on DVD.

We’re clueless as to what minute in the film Sophie gets naked.

Sorry.

Veronicas’ Jess Origliasso Says Screw Fur, PETA Loves It

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 in Female Musicians, Female Singers, Fur.

Jess Origliasso, member of the pop duo The Veronicas was doing green and good when she was discovered by PETA agents and asked to do a naked anti-fur ad.

Origliasso was riding the New York subway wearing a faux fur jacket that read, “F*** Fur” painted on the back.

Anyone with a message this blatant is clearly PETA ad talent, so they approached with the idea which she is strongly considering.

“Lisa and I support any foundation that is willing to educate and make a stand for animal liberation,” she told Confidential.

“Death for these animals is a horror story – the most common method used for killing foxes is electrocution. I can’t speak for Lisa, but I admire the approach to the eye-catching photo shoots PETA do to get the important message out there.

“I would definitely love to be involved in something like that.”

If she chooses to accept the offer, she’ll be following the footsteps of fellow celebrity Aussie ladies who have worked with the organization like Natalie Imbruglia, Sophie Monk, and Missy Higgins.

Sophie Monk Tried To Do Homeless Right

Written by Vegetarian Star on Sunday, October 19th, 2008 in Actresses.

2008 LA Fashion Week - Vinyl Vixens at Whiskey Blue

She tried to do the homeless right. And ended up looking like she was doing chicken really, really wrong.

Earlier we brought you the news of how Sophie Monk, a self-proclaimed vegetarian who has worked with PETA, was seen leaving a Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant with bags of not so vegetarian looking goodies in her hand.

Turns out, she was just trying to be nice and feed the homeless. A quote from The Daily Telegraph:

“I’m such an idiot – the thing was I was in there because this homeless guy was hungry. I went past and thought ‘I’m going to go in and get him some wedges.’ I was actually doing a good deed. It’s so me to end up the other way around where I’ve done damage.”

Sure, KFC may have been one of the cheapest places to get some potatoes for a hungry man, but Monk has been quoted as saying she only eats from vegetarian restaurants because they have the best food.

Shouldn’t a guy currently without a permanent address have the best food as well? Especially if a superstar is getting it for him? What do you guys think? Do you even believe the story? And if it’s true, should Sophie have made an effort to get food elsewhere, especially not from a place that has such as bad a rep with PETA and other vegetarians?

Sophie Monk Does Vegetarian Wrong

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 in Actresses, Not So Vegetarian.

KFC has never really “done chickens right,” but it looks like Sophie Monk is doing vegetarian really, really wrong.

The Australian actress, who has worked with PETA (which of course means taken off her clothes) and claims to have been a vegetarian since she was 18, was spotted exiting a Hollywood Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, complete with bags of what looks to be non vegetarian food goodies in her arms.  And since California isn’t Canada, there’s no way she was carrying the new vegan chicken sandwich.

A few months earlier, she was quoted as saying:

“I think the message to KFC eaters [is that] you should think about what you’re eating. If you’re eating deformed animals that are being induced by hormones, you know, it can not be good for you.”

Maybe she’s not getting her own message.

Yes, KFC has been thanked by vegans, but this isn’t the best way to do it.
