As expected, the longtime vegetarian and animal rights advocate required the catering be entirely vegetarian.

Paul McCartney The Dandy

Paul McCartney is getting his lifelong wish to appear in The Dandy comic book.

A favorite among children in the UK, the comic was something Paul enjoyed as a child and expressed an interested during a 1960s interview with NME to be featured in it.

Published in print form since 1937, The Dandy will now only be available in digital format, with McCartney making an appearance in its last issue this month.

Paul-McCartney-Glass-Walls

A Spanish version of Paul McCartney‘s Glass Walls narrated video was shown to a group of students at Los Angeles’ predominately Latino Roosevelt High School. The film illustrates what goes on behind the closed doors of the meat industry and encourages people to adopt a vegetarian diet.

Vegan and TV host Marco Antonio Regil was there to discuss veganism and present the video, which motivated 15 students to sign a pledge to go vegetarian that day.

Beatles “Abbey Road” Cover “Let It Bean” Made Of Breakfast Food

Food sculptor Paul Baker was commissioned by the Beefeater Grill UK restaurant chain to recreate the Beatles’ famous Abbey Road cover. Ironically, the chain’s beefy name didn’t prevent Baker from keeping vegetarian Paul McCartney‘s ideals in mind. While the rest of the album is crafted from breakfast foods like sausage and bacon, Baker ensured McCartney was made of mushrooms.

Howard Stern

Howard Stern hosted a week of yogis and vegetarians for his radio talk show recently.

Stern invited guests Woody Harrelson, Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand to discuss both their pilates and rice pilafs.

Vegetarian food brought Harrelson and another famous vegetarian, Paul McCartney, together.

“I met him at a feed-in event,” Harrelson said.

Paul McCartney has backed a campaign by the Humane Society International to end animal testing for cosmetic products.

The HSI’s Be Cruelty-Free campaign calls for an end to cosmetics testing all over the world, something that has already taken place in Europe, with new laws set to be in effect in 2013 that will ban the sales of newly animal-tested cosmetics.

“The ugly truth about testing beauty products on animals is that it causes them unimaginable pain and suffering. If every cosmetic tested on rabbits or mice had a photo on the packaging showing these animals with weeping swollen eyes and inflamed skin, I believe everyone would leave cruelty on the shelf and go for the cruelty-free option instead,” Sir Paul said.

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney is encouraging schools in Britain to trade the bangers with veggie patties and mash.

A video was recorded by the vegetarian musician and posted to YouTube by his charity that promotes giving up meat once a week for the environment, MeatFreeMondays.

McCartney said students are more than open to the idea of vegetarian lunches.

“Younger people… (have said), ‘We really love this idea, because it gives us some way of helping to save our future, helping to save this planet and helping to avoid the catastrophes that climate change could cause’,” McCartney said.
