Free Birds Adopt a Turkey

This year’s spokespersons for Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt a Turkey campaign are two individuals who know how important it is to keep animals off the dinner table.

Reggie and Jake, voiced by Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson, can be seen in theatres this Thanksgiving season as two cartoon turkeys in Free Birds, a film about turkeys on a mission to save their family and friends from becoming dinner.

Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson “Bromance” Sparks Dialogue Questions

This lovely photograph captures Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson vacationing in Italy on a raft titled, “Wet and Wild.”

The pic conjures up all sorts of ideas in our minds, but one that particularly sticks out is what the two boys are saying to each other in the tangle.

Given the fact Owen was spotted getting takeout at a popular vegan restaurant, and now he’s hanging out with the fanatical raw vegan foodie Harrelson, seeing the two of them together makes us (wishfully) think Woody might have given Owen “the talk”…about going veg.

Since vegetarianism and veganism are ongoing dialogues, they could possibly (alright, very remotely) have been talking about the veg life at that very moment!

But what do you think they’re saying to each other?

What are Woody and Owen saying to each other on the "Wet and Wild" Raft?

Owen Wilson Ticks Off Unlucky Vegan Duck By Cutting In Line

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, May 22nd, 2009 in Actors, Food & Drink.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian screening in Washington.

We are happy actor Owen Wilson was spotted shopping at One Lucky Duck, an organic, raw foods establishment with a restaurant, juice bar, and much more.

We’re unsure if Owen was grabbing grub or juice when he bypassed the takeout line to place his order, but apparently this made someone else waiting in line steaming broccoli mad.

Hey, movie stars need their raw fix more, okay. It’s a stressful world out there. Don’t prove Margaret Cho right about angry vegans, now.

Marley & Mills: Heather Mills Poses With Dog At Genesis Awards

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, March 30th, 2009 in Actresses, Animal Issues, Models, TV Hosts.

23rd Annual Genesis Awards - Arrivals

The 23rd annual Genesis Awards were held this weekend and vegan Heather Mills was present with a very handsome companion: a golden Labrador retriever, one of the dogs who played Marley in the Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson hit movie, Marley & Me.

The Genesis Awards are held annually to recognize celebrities and notable public figures that have made the biggest bark (had to throw that pun in) for animal rights.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi received the Wyler Awards this year. The couple recently became vegan and were huge Proposition 2 (which allows some farm animals to move around freely) supporters last year.

Is Twilight Saga Really Animal Friendly?

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 in Actors, Actresses, Animal Issues, Film & TV.

Twilight - Germany Premiere

Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s Twilight Saga snagged a Libby Award for Most Animal Friendly movie, but did voters watch the entire flick?

Yes, Bella ate vegetarian meals throughout the movie like Gardenburgers, spinach salad, and mushroom ravioli, but that may be where the animal friendliness ended.

The “vegetarian vampires” were the biggest paradox. Vegetarian to these blood sucking guys and gals meant avoiding human flesh and eating animals instead-which in our world of daylight and non Topaz colored eyed humans is the very contradiction of a vegetarian.

A deer is killed at the beginning of the movie. Characters wore fur in some scenes.

Is this the most liberal of animal friendly recognitions one can receive?

The winners were decided by a vote from peta2.org’s audience, so the readers may have automatically voted for the most popular movie that mentioned anything vegetarian or animal without doing their homework.

Personally, we cast our vote for the Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson big screen hit, Marley & Me, which used rescue dogs on the set.

Jennifer Aniston’s Vegan Party For Ellen & Portia, Tobey Maguire

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, December 9th, 2008 in Actresses.

Party To Celebrate Laura Day At One Sunset

Jennifer Aniston threw a holiday party for a few friends this weekend at her new Beverly Hills mansion. Oh, and did we mention these were her veg friends?

Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi, along with Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer, joined Jen for the housewarming party on Sunday where catered vegan food was served to please Ellen and Tobey.

Other guests brought treats, such as cakes and cupcakes, but Jen made sure her vegan buddies weren’t left hangin’.

Aniston’s latest film, Marley & Me, is set to hit the theatres on December 25th, and also stars actors Owen Wilson and Eric Dane.
