PETA’s has tallied the votes for sexiest vegetarians and vegans Bob Harper and Olivia Wilde have been crowned King and Queen.

A healthy body weight is linked to sexiness and as one of the coaches on the weight loss reality TV show, The Biggest Loser, Harper spells sex with a capital “S.” He recently revealed he’d gone vegan and he encourages contestants on the NBC show to adopt at least a mostly vegetarian diet to reach their weight loss goals.

Now that Wilde holds the title of PETA’s sexiest female, she can now boast to her husband she’s royalty too.

Alicia Silverstone Sticks To Diet On Set of “Butter” In Louisiana

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, April 20th, 2010 in Actresses, Food & Drink.

Broadway Opening Of RED - Arrivals And Curtain Call

Alicia Silverstone traveled to Shreveport, Louisiana to film Butter, a political satire movie where butter carving is the competition instead of an election.

Shreveport is no New York City, and it’s not as easy for Silverstone to walk around the corner during a break to grab an eggplant wrap with vegan cream cheese.

She told Wall Street Journal that everyone else on the set, vegetarian or not, has similar problems, but having another vegan in the cast, Olivia Wilde, makes it easier on her.

“Everyone here — both people who eat meat and people who don’t eat meat — is struggling with the food because it’s a very different world here in Shreveport; there’s a truckload of salt, and apparently every likes frying things alot. And there’s a lot of cheese involved. But I was prepared, and sussed out the situation before I got here. One really sweet thing is that Jason, the writer of the film, said to me that he was happy I was there…mainly because he knew that meant he was gong to eat well on the days i was on set. [My co-star] Olivia [Wilde] is also a vegan, so there’s a lot of support.”

Two restaurants in Shreveport that are vegetarian friendly are Counter Culture and Earthereal Restaurant and Bakery, both not being exclusively meat free and the latter serving vegan options.

Olivia Wilde Adds “Butter” To Her Vegan Life Too

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 in Actresses, Film & TV, Food & Drink.

24th Annual American Cinematheque Honors Matt Damon - Arrivals

Joining the cast of Butter with Alicia Silverstone will be vegan actress Olivia Wilde.

The film is a political satire of the 2008 Democratic election, in which butter carving is the competition, instead of an election.

Here’s a synopsis from MTV, which includes the roles for Jennifer Garner and Ty Burrell:

“Jennifer is the leading lady Laura — the Hillary Clinton of this scenario who is poised to win the butter-carving competition. Her husband, played by Ty Burrell, is a term-limited butter carving champ who picks up a stripper mistress along the way. While that is developing, Laura finds her plans to win the competition thwarted by a young African American upstart, played by Yara Shahidi.”

Wilde will be playing the stripper who seduces the former butter carving champion.

Previous reports said the Silverstone would play the character of the stripper, but it is now known she will play the adoptive mother of the African American upstart butter carver.

Whether the producers will be using real butter, margarine or something completely inedible isn’t known, but let’s hope if it’s real, they source if from small local farms that treat their cows more kindly, as opposed to alleged conditions uncovered at a Land O’Lakes supplier, which included filthy conditions and downer cows not being treated by veterinarians.
