“Recipes For Healthy Kids Challenge” Seeks Plant-Based School Lunch Ideas
Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, October 14th, 2010 in Children, Food & Drink, Nutrition-Health-Fitness.
It’s been said it’s ultimately the parent’s job to educate children and if school cafeterias won’t stop serving junk for food, you’re going to have to submit your vegetarian recipes to teach them to cook something else!
The USDA has partnered with Michelle Obama‘s “Let’s Move!” campaign in a contest that seeks the best recipes for plant based meals to be included in school lunch menus around the country. Participants are asked to form teams and develop recipes in the following categories: Whole Grains, Dark Green and Orange vegetables, or Dry Beans and Peas. Meat recipes are not wanted, thank you very much!
