Alicia Silverstone made an appearance on the Rachael Ray Show today to pay the celebrity chef a visit and discuss her new book, The Kind Diet.

Alicia has her husband, Christopher Jarecki, to thank for turning her eating habits around.

“I was on a steak, bresaola and donut diet at the time when I met him, so he was thrilled when I started eating healthier,” Alicia said. “He was like, ‘Honey you are just going to fall apart with the way you’re eating!”

Thanks goodness Christopher set her straight!

Alicia Silverstone joined the ladies of The View to discuss her newly released vegan diet and lifestyle book, The Kind Diet.

Silverstone was looking hot as ever and the pictures of the food that flashed on the screen behind them were mouthwatering.

Joy Behar got some laughs when she asked Silverstone “What’s your idea of a “mean” diet?”

“I do cover that in the book,” Silverstone says, which she describes as “the nasty foods” like processed sugar, meat and dairy.

The best reward for living more vegan is of course the food and Alicia demonstrates a vegan dish made at Candle 79, Seitan Picatta on LX New York.

“I want to stop calling it vegan and vegetarian food — it’s just great food,” Alicia says.

Alicia talks about the changes she experienced, physically, after going vegan and assures readers the book will offer a relaxed, enjoyable discussion of the vegan lifestyle.

Alicia Silverstone hosts a launch for her new book THE KIND DIET , NYC

Alicia Silverstone had a launch party for her vegan diet and lifestyle book, The Kind Diet, which will be released tomorrow from Rodale Publishing.

During the celebration at New York City’s Candle 79, Alicia took the time to explain why cow’s milk wasn’t made from humans.

“Remember, dairy was designed to make little baby calves turn into 400-pound cows, so that’s what it does to you,” Silverstone said. “It makes you fat.”

Well…guess sometimes you have to be blunt.

A study discussed in the Washington Post agrees.

Researchers found that children who drank 3 servings of milk a day were prone to becoming overweight.

Let’s ease up on that mother cow and chug some almond milk instead.
