Tricks of the Trade Ashley Dupre

It’s time again for the best and worst in vegetarian gossip and news. Here are the top five most horrible moments that shame, insult and give a bad name to the veggie lifestyle.

#5. Ashley Dupre Says Don’t Date Vegan Men:
A former call girl for ex New York governor Elliot Spitzer says the worst man to date is a vegan one. “I don’t think I could trust a man who doesn’t eat red meat,” Dupre wrote in her book Tricks of the Trade. Like, trust that he won’t pay for her services afterwards? Yes, vegan men make bad lovers. What women really need are men that eat lots and lots of saturated fat and cholesterol filled meat that leads to impotence. Hey, at least it makes them less available to call girls.

#4 Cicely Tyson Eats Meat For Role:
A longtime vegetarian who likens feeding her body with good food to filling a car with the best fuel decides to eat meat while studying her character in A Trip to Bountiful. If living out the life of a role is required for good acting, better hope your neighbor isn’t auditioning for Hannibal.

Alice Cooper

Alice Cooper is so unhappy with some affairs of the music industry, he’s blaming it on vegetarianism.

During an interview with Fuse, the rocker was asked if bands like Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers could be considered big names in modern rock.

Cooper disagrees, and if anyone thinks differently, he feels they should probably eat a steak.

Nemi Volume 3–Lisa Myhre Goth Girl Is Back

Nemi Volume 3

Nemi Volume 3

Looking for a goth comic strip starring one unconventional veg gal?

Look no further than the Nemi Volume 3 collection by Norwegian artist Lisa Myhre.

Volume 3 features Nemi and her sidekick Cyan searching for the meaning of life and love and men.

Sounds vague and kinda boring, but Nemi is a character known for making bars her second home and having a temper that results in losing her job after beating a customer for buying Christina Aguilera and not Alice Cooper.

Yikes!

Hate to know what she does to her stepmother, Evilina, who wears fur to the mostly vegetarian, but sometimes fish consuming Nemi’s objection.

“Suck” Vampire Flick Premiers At Toronto Film Festival

Suck

Suck recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

It’s a vampire horror comedy featuring stars like Moby, Alice Cooper, and Iggy Pop.

A rock band wishes to become famous and gets a chance to do so after meeting a vampire-and gets more than a record deal in the package.

“It’s sort of like an exaggerated rock & roll world,” says director and writer Rob Stefaniuk. “I’ve seen a lot of rock & roll movies, but what I wanted to do differently is make it less of a cinéma vé?rité — this is what it feels like to be in a real band, and yet I didn’t want to do a parody of a bunch of guys that go ‘Yeah dude’ and a big roadie. I wanted it to feel real, so you’re not in a band with a bunch of druggie people; you’re in a band with a bunch of vampires.”

The movie, as expected, features lots of blood and guts, and latex rubber “meat” was created to throw at vegan Moby, who plays “Beef Ballow,” lead singer for the band Secretaries of Steak.

Great idea these guys used fake meat-unlike that horrible meat tree from True Blood, so Moby wouldn’t hurl blood from disgust.

Why Throwing Rubber Meat At Vegan Moby Won’t Suck

Rosario Dawson hosts The 2008 Willow Awards to benefit the Lower Eastside Girls Club

The horror/comedy film Suck, which vegan musician Moby has a role in, has just completed a few days of filming in Toronto.

As we told you earlier, the story is about a loser band that meets a vampire that while changes their fame and make others lust after them, results in their insatiable lust cravings for blood as well.

Since there is so much blood and guts in the film, you might wonder what kinds of props they’re using. Rest assured, Moby’s not down with being covered in real meat.

Suck’s production crew had fake beef created from latex rubber and foam, then dripped in fake blood.

The latex beef will be thrown at Moby’s character, Beef Ballow, lead singer of a band called Secretaries of Steak. Secretaries of Steak is a rival band to the loser band, The Winners, who’s luck improves after meeting the vampire.

Other stars in the film include Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, and Henry Rollins.

Australia New York Premiere - Red Carpet

Vegetarian vampires are the happening thing these days, and one vegan vampire wants to get his 15 minutes of blood sucking fame before the fad ends.

Moby, a vegan, is set to play the frontman for a band called, “Secretaries of Steak,” (vegan pun, ha, ha, ha) in the upcoming vampire horror/comedy film Suck.

Suck follows the adventures of a band not doing so hot, but still calls itself The Winners. Their luck changes when they happen to meet a vampire (in the real world these same creatures are called agents) who gives them a chance at rock and roll, as well as other kinds of immortality. Of course, there’s the inevitable blood cravings. The Secretaries of Steak are a rival band to the Winners. Get ’em Moby!

Other notables include meat shunning Henry Rollins, who plays a radio host, Dimitri Coats of the indie band Burning Brides as the vampire, Iggy Pop as music producer, and Alice Cooper as a blood sucking bartender.

Oh, yeah. Can’t wait to watch Moby get his vegan vampire on!
