Actress Pamela Anderson presents at the 8th Annual TV Land Awards in Los Angeles

Pamela Anderson won’t be shaking her vegetarian hips to the Salsa anymore on Dancing with the Stars.

The actress and animal rights campaigner was voted off last night, after she and partner Damien Whitewood found themselves in the bottom two for the third time in a row.

Bummer!

Pamela highlighted the very important issue of bullfighting during one of her dances earlier in the season. Contestants were asked to tell a story through their dance and Pamela’s depicted a woman torn because she was in love with a matador even though she disagreed with him killing animals.

Pamela described bullfighting as a “dance with the devil.”

As for her future plans now that she’s put away her heels and DWTS sexy outfits, Pamela told UK Ok!, “I’m doing a lot of things. I’ve got my clothing line; I’ve got my fragrance, my body care, hair care, all this organic crazy stuff I’m doing. But performance wise, I don’t know what I’m doing to do next.”

Aiden Turner, who was eliminated from Dancing With the Stars , is spottted after making an appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly

Not only is Aiden Turner a hot, sexy male dancer and actor, he can cook too!

The eliminated Dancing with the Stars contestant told Buddy TV before he learned to do the Salsa, he was dicing Serrano peppers to make it from scratch.

When the All My Children actor made dinner for all of this season’s DWTS competitors, he made sure he whipped up a special meatless treat for the lovely Pamela Anderson.

“I hosted a dinner party for my fellow DWTS cast mates at the Andaz West Hollywood. It was so great to see them all again. I used to be a chef, so I cooked dinner for everyone at the hotel; even making sure that I made vegan food for Pamela. I’ve been a big fan of Pamela’s since Baywatch. She is a very busy lady and rarely goes out, but she promised that she’d make it and she did! I had a great time with everyone and it was a very special evening.”

Don’t know where Aiden learned to cook, but if you’re interested in improving your chef skills, take a look at a few of the vegetarian cooking schools and classes offered in the United States and England.

The Art of Compassion PCRM 25th Anniversary Gala in West Hollywood

Cloris Leachman entertained Dancing With the Stars fans two years ago and has just finished filming a psychological thriller movie, a pilot for a sitcom and is in talks for a reality TV show about her living with her 21 year old granddaughter.

She’ll also be turning 84 this month.

Who invented the idea of mandatory retirement at 70 anyway?

Leachman, who recently attended the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine’s “Art of Compassion Gala,” attributes her energy to her vegetarian diet.

About the plan she’s been adhering to since 35, Leachman said, “I’m not rigid at all … but (I) choose things that are good.”

Pamela Anderson Visits Illinois

In last night’s Dancing with the Stars, each competitor had to tell a story through their dance for the evening without using any props.

Vegetarian and animal activist Pamela Anderson danced her legs away to a paso doble, and pretended to be a gypsy Flamenco dancer in both awe and disgust by the matador.

“I’ve always been an animal activist and always think bullfighting is senseless and violent,” said Anderson. “I think it’s a dance with the devil.”

Will Pamela’s story of passion for both a man and animals be enough to keep her from elimination?

You’ll have to watch the results show tonight at 8/7c on ABC to find out!

Carrie Ann Inaba needs some veg advice on proteins, quick!

The Dancing with the Stars judge should have had a heart to heart talk with former contestant Cloris Leachman.

Inaba says that although she used to be vegetarian, she found it hard to combine the right proteins, but she’s looking to go back.

“I eat organic and I cut down on meat. I tried to be a vegetarian but my body craves protein and I haven’t found the right mix yet. But I cut down to only two times a week, and it has to be organic meat.

According to a FAQ sheet from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, finding the right mix of proteins may be easier than once thought.

“It was once thought that various plant foods had to be eaten together to get their full protein value, otherwise known as protein combining or protein complementing. We now know that intentional combining is not necessary to obtain all of the essential amino acids. As long as the diet contains a variety of grains, legumes, and vegetables, protein needs are easily met.”

PCRM then goes on to list plant sources of protein with the number of proteins in each source in grams.

Black beans, seitan, tofu, tempeh and lentils top the list and the group recommends you aim for  2-3 servings of legumes every day.

Have you found your right mix of veggie proteins yet?

Vegetarian Pamela Anderson Going Dancing With The Stars

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, February 5th, 2010 in Actresses, Reality TV.

6th Annual Hollywood Style Awards

Pamela Anderson has just signed on to compete in the reality TV show Dancing with the Stars.

A source told Radar Online, “Pam is thrilled and so is the show.”

“She really wanted to do the show and the show thought it was a great idea,” the source added.

Is Pamela looking to imitate vegan Heather Mills, who’s dancing on ice this season on an equally popular UK celebrity reality television show?

It’s almost certain that the vegetarian Pamela will request cruelty-free costumes–no leather, fur or wool.

Fellow competitors should also expect some PETA pamphlets left in their dressing rooms.

A little bit of nakedness here and there never hurt anyone and certainly gets your attention for a good cause.

Dancing with the Stars competitor Joanna Krupa strips down to her wings to urge you to always adopt from a shelter.

According to the Humane Society of the United States, out of the 6-8 million dogs and cats who arrive at animal shelters every year, only 3-4 million of those are adopted.

You may not look as great in wings or on the dance floor as Joanna, but if you open your home to the animals in shelters waiting to be adopted, you’ll never be voted off the competition.
