The Chew

The Chew celebrated Meatless Monday today and Daphne Oz, Mario Batali, Clinton Kelly and Carla Hall showcased their favorite vegetarian recipes.

Instead of sharing one great recipe of the day, why not attempt to make all of these?

Daphne and Clinton both have veggie burgers recipes that will leave no one missing the ground beef. Clinton even has a recipe for real, old-fashioned fried onion rings you can place on top of either meatless patty.

Lawson went vegetarian in 2011 and after a few months cut out dairy and all other animal products.

She and her husband work as a team–he often does meal planning and preparation while she scouts out all the natural foods stores and shops in the area.

Martha Stewart visited Today to demonstrate a few recipes from her latest cookbook.

Meatless: More Than 200 of the Very Best Vegetarian Recipes is Stewart’s completely vegetarian cookbook.

Stewart briefly mentioned the benefits of a vegetarian diet, including lower risks for several health problems.

She then proceed to prepare Grilled Asparagus and Ricotta Pizza, Linguine with Toasted Almonds, Parsely and Lemon and Avocado, Beet and Orange Salad.

Padma Lakshmi stopped by the studios of The Ellen DeGeneres Show to demonstrate two healthy, exotic and vegan recipes: Pondicherry Lentil Salad and Fairy Water.

Lakshmi said she enjoys preparing the lentil salad when she wants to detox, adding that her hectic schedule on television often results in weight changes that can be remedied with wholesome foods such as the salad.

There’s water, there’s fruit or otherwise infused water and then there’s fairy water.
