“The Job” Has Vegetarian Competing For Steakhouse Position

The Job premieres this Friday at 8 P.M. on CBS.

The reality show featuring contestants vying for positions at different companies will feature Alex Carabano, who runs Brooklyn’s vegetarian V-Spot Cafe.

Carabano is competing for a position with The Palm, a group of upscale steakhouses.

As you can imagine, his diet is the subject of scrutiny during the show.

“The Taste” Vegan Commentary Summary

The Taste

After it’s premiere last week, it appears that The Taste is treating vegans like many other reality cooking shows–avoiding them like vegetarians avoid the vegetable soup with chicken broth.

LA Weekly discussed whether or not veganism will have a strong place in this season’s episodes.

The judges may have their reservations, but the show’s producer is hopeful.

Here are a few quotes made on the influence of the vegan chefs:

After being served a dish from one contestant:
Anthony Bourdain: “I suspect vegetarianism.”
Ludo Lefebvre: “Oh uh oh.”
Brian Malarkey: “I need meat cooked on my team.”

ABC’s The Taste has the pleasure of showcasing not one but two vegan chefs this season.

Hosted by celebrity chefs Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre and Brian Malarkey, the reality cooking show that premiered on January 22, The Taste features all the usual drama of culinary competition–picking teams, food-related challenges and chefs that hate vegan food.

Catherine Giudici

Catherine Giudici is by far the Vegetarian Star‘s favorite candidate on this season’s Bachelor.

And from some spoilers obtained from the web, she’s Sean Lowe‘s favorite too.

As previously reported, the 26-year old graphic designers is also a vegan food blogger and Vegetarian Star has recently stumbled upon her blog at Seattleite where it appears she covers the Meatless Monday beat.

Giudici reviews restaurants and stores in the Seattle area that serve the best in plant-based fare and has covered everything from fine dining to pastry shops to sports arenas.

The Job is a new reality show that will premiere on CBS in February.

Each week, candidates will complete a series of challenges as they vie for a top position with a famous and well established company.

The first episode of The Job will have 31-year old Alex Carabano competing with several others to be an editorial assistant at Cosmopolitan.

Rachael vs. Guy Celebrity Cookoff premiered this week and both Rachael Ray and Guy Fieri have vegetarian and animal friendly stars on their teams.
