Stephanie Pratt "Be Nice To Bunnies " PETA iphone app Ad

Stephanie Pratt has hopped out of her clothes to draw attention to the very important cause of using cruelty-free cosmetics.

Stephanie has joined forces with PETA to bring you an iphone application that is hooked up with the animal rights organization’s database of cruelty-free products.

The app allows you to search by manufacturer, brand or product category.

According to Starpulse, Stephanie’s full ad was deemed too racy (imagine!) to put on the iphone app, so PETA is using the clothed image of The Hills star for it.

More from Starpulse:

“Some companies, such as Clorox and Unilever, still test their personal-care and household products on animals despite the availability of more sophisticated methods. No law requires that products be tested on animals, and the results of such testing cannot be reliably applied to humans.”

The app is available for $1.99 and more information can be found at itunes.

“Private Chefs Of Beverly Hills” Killer Is Vegetarian

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, April 20th, 2010 in Film & TV, Food & Drink, Reality TV.

Private Chefs of Beverly Hills

Private Chefs of Beverly Hills

The Food Network show Private Chefs of Beverly Hills did a little medieval twist recently when the chefs were asked to cater a dinner party with a murder mystery theme.

Private Chefs follows six cooks from a Beverly Hills private chef placement agency as they attempt to cater for the most eccentric and finicky Los Angeles clients.

Seventeenth century food was lacking in beans and tofu, as the menu consisted of Cinnamon Sausage Biscuits, Bison Soup, Roasted Turkey Leg wrapped in Collard Greens and Traditional Sheppard’s Pie.

It was truly what you’d call “mystery meat.”

The chefs had to dress up in ridiculous outfits and plant cues to the mystery in the food.

As if the episode’s menu wasn’t anti-vegetarian enough, the killer turns out to be the sole meatless eater.

Go figure.

The Greatest Fashion Show On Earth Launch Party

George Lamb, British radio and television personality, has gone vegetarian after slaughtering a goat for television.

According to The Sun, George and his father Larry Lamb were filming with an African tribe for the ITV2 series The Parent Trip, and the goat slaughter was a big event for the day.

Since George and Larry were guests of the chief, it was considered an honor to have the goat slaughtered.

George went along with it because he didn’t want to offend his hosts.

George had to kill the goat with a pen knife and eat it live.

“It was horrible. When you hold the animal and feel the life go out of it, it’s a real eye-opener.”

George has yet to touch a piece of meat since filming wrapped up last November.

“It’s made me see it in a different light – the process of how a piece of meat ends up in a supermarket.”

Kim Kardashian Responds To Cat Twitter Photo Controversy

After receiving much criticism for holding a cat by its neck for a photo on Twitter, Kim Kardashian has issued a statement explaining she’s not an animal abuser and the kitty is just fine.

What she didn’t say is that it probably bit the crap out her once the cameras were off.

“So yesterday I was doing a photo shoot with an adorable black kitty cat and I Twitpic’d this picture,” Kim wrote. “I have been getting negative comments regarding the way I was holding the kitty, but rest assured, the owner and vet were on set and showed me how to pick him up. The cat was not harmed in any way and is perfectly fine! I love animals and would never do anything to harm any animals.”

Two animal rights organizations responded differently to the situation.

PETA insisted only a mother cat knows how to handle a cat this way and Kim should have supported the cat’s bottom while holding it up.

RSPCA said the rear support is necessary for adult and big cats, but maybe not so much for smaller cats.

The cat’s opinion, however, has failed to be put on record.

Kim Kardashian may have handled her pussy inappropriately, and no, we’re not talking about another sex tape.

Kim posted a photograph of herself holding this gorgeous kitty on Twitter, and as Ecorazzi reports, two different animal rights groups are weighing in on the situation.

PETA is ready to dig its claws in her, according to X17 Online.

“Kim Kardashian isn’t the only person who mistakenly thinks that because a mother cat picks up her kittens by the scruff of the neck that a supportive hand under the rump isn’t needed.”

But unlike Kim, the cat doesn’t appear to be known for its big booty and may not need the support, according to RSPCA.

“But if it’s a larger cat, we’d put the hand under the rump. She’s at least half right.”

Which side do you take?

Jillian Michaels "Master Your Metabolism"

Jillian Michaels "Master Your Metabolism"

Jillian Michaels, one of the coaches from The Biggest Loser, has a diet and health book, Master Your Metabolism: The 3 Diet Secrets to Naturally Balancing Your Hormones for a Hot and Healthy Body!

The three themes for the book are Remove, Restore, and Rebalance, which reference to changing the foods that go into your mouth in order to achieve a healthier system (metabolism) that will enable you to lose weight.

Along with resources like shopping lists, tips for eating out and how to eat on a budget, Master Your Metabolism contains recipes.

This is an entire chapter featuring vegetarian main dishes, which is a plus, but it’s a little disappointing that Jillian didn’t choose to make these the focus of the recipes in her book, as she’s a pescatarian who will only eat sustainable seafood.

Most of the foods on her top 10 recommended list, however, are vegetarian–nuts, seeds, legumes, organic dairy, whole grains, fruits and dark, leafy vegetables.

The drapery and upholstery fabric shop carries a selection of faux suede and leather skins in a variety of colors, including green, buckskin brown, sand, dark brown, brick brown, camel and white.

A trip to the NYC warehouse might eliminate your need to drape those discount sheets over the couch to cover up the holes and stains.

Biggest Loser 6 Weeks To A Healthier You

A brand new cookbook featuring contributions from The Biggest Loser contestants and staff is out, and season 6 competitor Nicole Michalik has contributed her delicious meat and dairy free recipe in Biggest Loser 6 Weeks To A Healthier You.

“Broke Bean Stew” features vegetable broth with your choice of chickpeas, kidney beans or black beans seasoned with onion, garlic and cumin among other spices and herbs.

“I love, love, love! It’s high in protein but totally vegetarian. It’s so easy to make and freezes very well. I make it at least once a month,” said Michalik.

And since there aren’t many ingredients in the recipe and beans are relatively cheap, you won’t go broke if you choose to make it several times a month.

This is definitely the kind of food vegetarian coach Bob Harper pitches on the show.

You can grab the recipe for Broke Bean Stew at Prevention.
