Rip Esselstyn, author of The Engine 2 Diet, was lucky enough to have a cardiologist father who had seen the benefits of how a plant-based diet revered heart disease in his patients. But as a firefighter in Texas, he saw his fellow fighters trapped in a dangerous situation that no safety and rescue equipment could fix.

It’s not quite the national food of Canada (that would be beer, or maybe poutine, but probably beer) but hamburgers are for everyone, even us. AAA Publishes Top Vegetarian Restaurant Picks

AAA, one of North America’s largest motoring and leisure travel organizations, has compiled its list of top-rated vegetarian-friendly restaurants across the United States. Based on a poll from its professional inspectors, AAA applied its famous 3-diamond rating system and named its 13 top picks for eating veg on the road (if you’re not lucky enough to be a local in the city).

Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev went vegetarian for a few months. Then she became weak, tired (yawn, how many times have you heard this line) and decided she needed beef.
