My Dog: An Unconditional Love Story is a DVD documentary exploring the relationship between people and their pets.

My Dog features several celebrities and their pet stories, including Glenn Close, Edie Falco and vegetarian singer-songwriter Nellie McKay.

McKay’s story was somewhat bittersweet, as one of her dogs, Charo, died a few months after filming was complete.

Twenty percent of the profits from DVD sales go towards an animal charity of the celebrity’s choice, and McKay chose Animals Without Borders, an organization that rescues animals in other countries and brings them to the United States for adoption.

Claude Kelly has a string of hit songs written for performers like Leona Lewis, Britney Spears, Adam Lambert, and Michael Jackson to his name, but he’s not satisfied with words being his only form of creative expression

According to the May/June 2010 issue of VegNews, Kelly is working on mastering the art of the vegan cupcake. He become inspired to open up a vegan bakery or restaurant after eating at One Lucky Duck restaurant in NYC.

“I love the way [being vegan] makes me feel,” Kelly said. “Food is fuel–it affects my body, my brain–and my brain is the biggest part of my job.”

Solange Knowles went through a stage in her teen years that she calls a “weird teenage Rasta phase” where she became a vegan.

Leona Lewis says she’s happiest when she’s sharing a smooch with her pets, a pig name Melrose, a horse named Goose, and a dog named Misty.

“I dote on them,” said Lewis. “I give them lots of kisses and cuddles.”

According to Contact Music, when Leona’s not singing on stage or in the studio or kissing her pets, she devotes a lot of her time to the World Society for the Protection of Animals because they “campaign to change laws to stop the cruel treatment of animals.”

Last year, Leona teamed up with WSPA to record a PSA, Animals Matters, which educated the public about some of the animal abuses WSPA campaigns against, such as cruelty to animals in the entertainment industry.

Justin Bieber has been called out on Twitter for messing around with fast food.

After the “U Smile” singer wrote, “Fast food always hits the spot,” in a recent update, Katy Perry responded on her Twitter account with, “Eat your spinach young man! -adopted mother.”

Bieber isn’t alone in his lunch choices. Using data from Project EAT (Eating Among Teens), Researchers at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health have found that over 20% of teenagers consume food fast more than three times a week!

Perry doesn’t have much room to talk, as she once professed her love for the double-double burger at In-N-Out. Given his popularity and influence, Bieber should stop hitting the spot with large fries and cheeseburgers. Or at least stop Tweeting about it.

And do what the elder says, even if the elder doesn’t do it.

Colbie Caillat can now share kisses with her guitarist Justin Kawika Young while traveling on the road.

According to Hollywoodlife, the two are now an official item and the singer admits her third album is pretty much a “I’m in love with Young” tribute.

“I have like 15 songs — they’re all pretty much about him — the falling in love stage and anything about him,” Caillat said.

That’s nice.

Even more interesting, though, is that Young is an aspiring vegetarian who may at least partly want to do so because of environment reasons.

Gabriella Cilmi is thinking of eating meat on the down low while she’s touring with vegetarian Leona Lewis who’s banned such items for her crew on the road.

“The catering is vegan. I’m from an Italian family, we love meat so I’ll have to smuggle in some salami or something,” she said, according to The Mirror.

Um, no honey, you should see the experience as a learning opportunity and respect your boss’ wishes.

Maybe she could ask the catering crew to whip up a faux salami recipe in the kitchen.

If this chick were touring with Morrissey, she’d get canned faster than the pack of sardines she hid in her bosom.
