Mike Binder has film stunts like The Mind of the Married Man and The Sex Monster as an actor, writer, director and producer to his credit. Now, he’d like to add restaurant entrepreneur to that CV.

The Detroit native is opening a 24-hour hot dog and spicy chili restaurant on Hollywood’s Sunset Blvd next month, Coney Dog, inspired by the taste of Detroit’s Lafayette Coney Island.

Wayne Pacelle Proposes Humane Economy For Animals

Every year, businesses that use animals for entertainment or fashion like zoos, circuses and retail make millions of dollars. Many of these industries have histories of keeping these animals in less than ideal conditions, resulting in injuries, premature deaths and numerous safety issues for both animals and humans.

What if, instead of these businesses making money treating animals inhumanely, they generated ideas to attract people to pay money for animal causes that made a difference? That contributed to the conservation of species, ending the cases of abused animals and resulted in an educational setting that was both beneficial to humans and animals?

This past weekend, the Food Network hosted its first ever breakfast making competition, which featured vegan donut baker Sara Beth Russert from Seattle’s Mighty-O donut bakery.

Russert won the challenge, beating out two other bakeries in a contest where bakers had to created donuts based on themes in two rounds of competition.

If you ever wanted to know all the personal details of the guy behind one of the most popular faux meat products, Gardein, The Globe and Mail is giving you the chance to do so.

Apparently, one of Yves Potvin‘s idosyncrasies is that he likes to make lists. Lots of them.

The list of items that resulted in his first major vegetarian product line, Yves Veggie Cuisine, had much to do with the increasing need for healthier, convenient food.
