Dita Von Teese has always maintained she’s not going all out veggie.

And on an even more sour note, she told PETA she wasn’t about to advocate giving up fur when she offered to star in a PSA about spaying and neutering pets.

Sigh.

At least has not problem sharing her joy for vegetarian food when she’s eating it.

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, March 21st, 2011 in Actresses, Food & Drink, Gardening.

Rules of Engagement actress Megyn Price feeds her family of mixed eaters from the garden in her backyard.

Price told Celebrity Baby Scoop: “We grow whatever’s in season, and as much as our garden will hold! I love to preserve foods as well, so I never mind if we have a bumper crop of anything. I’ve gone so overboard with arugula, that we have a wild patch now, covering our hillside. We’ve got the happiest bunnies in Southern California!”

Price told CNN’s Eatocracy that her family is made of vegetarians and non-vegetarians, so she’s learned to cook accordingly, especially during the Holidays.

“In my house, we have half vegetarians and half meat eaters,” she said.

Olivia Munn appeared on The Today Show for St. Patrick’s day with host Hota Kotb.

The topic turned to the subject of whether or not some brides were happy with their proprosals. According to one poll, 1 in 4 women hated their proposals.

Kotb begins discussing her proposal, which involved a horse-drawn carriage in New York’s Central Park.

Yes, she dared to mention she enjoyed a horse-drawn carriage to the same Olivia Munn who’s spoken out about several animal welfare issues, including circus animals and horse-drawn carriages. Here’s how the conversation went:

Abbie Cornish On When She Went Vegetarian

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, March 17th, 2011 in Actresses, Food & Drink.

Growing up, Abbie Cornish always ate the meat and eggs from the animals her family raised. Although she was aware of where her food came from, she never learned what a vegetarian was until she was 13.

“I know in this day and age it’s hard to believe that,” Cornish said of her naivete. “I grew up on a farm, so I wasn’t indulged in magazines, newspapers, Internet, television. So for some reason I was never exposed to what a vegetarian was.”

Actually, given the fact some adults in the 40s and beyond don’t realize what’s acceptable for a vegetarian to eat and not eat, Cornish’s realization at 13 may actually be considered precocious.

Nothing turns a meat eater vegetarian faster than having to prepare their own dead animal for dinner, right?

At least that’s how it would be for Alexia Echevarria of Real Housewives of Miami.

For the Cuban dinner party the couple threw, Alexia and her husband personally went to the farm to hand-pick the meal. When it comes to actually cooking the animal–a full sized pig–Alexia cannot stand to look at it or offer any assistance as her husband breaks the hips and puts butters in the slits.

Not even covering up the pig’s face can make her detach and think of the animal as food.
