Quantcast Vegetarian StarOlivia Munn Scorns Horse-Drawn Carriage Proposal On “The Today Show” (Video)

Olivia Munn appeared on The Today Show for St. Patrick’s day with host Hota Kotb.

The topic turned to the subject of whether or not some brides were happy with their proprosals. According to one poll, 1 in 4 women hated their proposals.

Kotb begins discussing her proposal, which involved a horse-drawn carriage in New York’s Central Park.

Yes, she dared to mention she enjoyed a horse-drawn carriage to the same Olivia Munn who’s spoken out about several animal welfare issues, including circus animals and horse-drawn carriages. Here’s how the conversation went:

“Did you guys just watch an 80s chick flick and then go off, and then did you realize that it’s really horrible to ride in those carriages?” Munn asked.

“At the time it felt romantic, and later it turned out that it wasn’t,” Kotb said.

“You accepted a proposal in a carriage ride in Central Park. What’s that say about you?” Munn asked.

“That says that I’m a romantic, don’t you think?” Kotb asked.

Kotb must have not known Munn’s worst idea of a romantic date involves a horse-drawn carriage. Munn once said: “The least romantic thing to do in New York or any other city is going on horse-drawn carriage rides. … [I]f you knew the pain and misery these beautiful animals endure just to fulfill the false symbol of uniting two hearts, it would actually break your heart. To see the horses in the harsh, cold weather being forced to cart people around the city is the farthest thing from romantic in my opinion.”

Maybe Kotb’s revelation was the reason Munn thought they both needed another drink.

The conversation begins around minute 8.
