Ted Danson has published a book, Oceana: Our Endangered Oceans and What We Can Do to Save Them.
The actor best known as the bartender in Cheers uses Oceana as a platform to draw attention to the problem of actions that threaten the health of the world’s waters, among them overfishing, climate change and pollution.
Along with colored photos, graphs and other images that illustrate the problem, the 320 page hardcover book from Rodale Press also gives advice for stopping the changes that will ultimately destroy the stability of our waters.
Danson appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” to discuss his new book and the issue of bycatch, which is marine life like sea turtles are unitentionally caught while trying to catch other organisms.
