Kevin Federline Gets K Fed With Fresh Vegetables

Kevin Federline goes grocery shopping with girlfriend Victoria Prince and buys healthy food only to smoke a cigarette on his way out

Kevin Federline was seen picking up fresh vegetables like cauliflower and tomatoes during a trip to the grocery store.

He chose a much better option than the Cheetos fetish the mother of his children, Britney Spears, claimed to have sworn off.

Is this the good stuff K-Fed picked up in order to help him lose weight on Celebrity Fit Club?

Drew Barrymore Fussy Vegetarian Foodie

16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Press Room

Drew Barrymore says it’s hard to please her on a dinner date because her diet makes her finicky.

“I’m a bit of a picky eater, but that’s because I’m a vegetarian,” she said, according to Contact Music.

But when Drew described her favorite foods as grilled cheese sandwiches, peanut butter sandwiches and macaroni and cheese, it made her seem like any other veggie woman who has to brown bag it everyday for work.

Drew’s favorite foods serve as perfectly good example that eating vegetarian doesn’t mean you’ll have a difficult time shopping for items at the grocery store.

For those that still want to play food diva, there are plenty of ways to jazz up a old fashioned comfort food meal.

PB & J on whole wheat bread or baguette? Why not try almond butter next time?

Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Asks First Graders To Name Veggies

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, February 26th, 2010 in Chefs, Children, Food & Drink, Videos.

Jamie Oliver‘s has a new show, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, where the Naked Chef travels to different parts of the United States to assess food awareness in Americans.

Jamie makes a stop at a first grade classroom in Virginia to see if children can identify fruits and vegetables.

The preview doesn’t look like the children made the grade with simple vegetables like tomatoes, but first grade is incredibly young to know some of the other complicated produce in Jamie’s basket like “eggplant.”

Children might benefit from learning to incorporate colors on their plates (thus adding green, red peppers or orange carrots), before they distinguish shiitake from maitake.

Watch the Tomato Sneak clip and tuned in to ABC on Friday March 26 to see if you are veg smarter than a first grader.

Jack Hanna “Larry King Live”–Whale Trainers Like Astronauts

Jack Hanna On Larry King Live

Jack Hanna On Larry King Live

Larry King hosted Jack Hanna and PETA’s Ingrid Newkirk on Larry King Live, where the two got into a heated debate over whether keeping whales like the one that killed SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau, is safe for humans and animals.

Newkirk said the conditions aren’t ideal for the whales and that they are “swimming in their own diluted urine” and she hopes the company is sued.

Hanna said the benefits of learning about whales outweigh the risks and compared the trainers to astronaunts.

“Larry, didn’t our astronauts go up in the space shuttle and we lost them when they came back? It was a terrible thing. They went back up in space, didn’t they? We want to learn from space and help mankind. That’s what SeaWorld does. These are dangerous animals. This young lady sacrificed her life and would be sitting here today saying she’d do it again for the great work she’s done and SeaWorld has done to educate tens of millions of people over the last years.”

Do you agree with Hanna?

Or is there a better way to educate the public than through marine parks like SeaWorld?

USA Presents The White Collar Shirt Bar

Tiffani Thiesen has fallen to the call of the cow and is blaming it all on her in utero growth.

She only has three months left until her first child is due.

At the USA Network and Vanity Fair bash in New York, she told People magazine, “I was a vegetarian for many, many, many years and all of a sudden I started to crave red meat.”

If that’s not enough to send a vegetarian mother into early labor, Tiffani revealed she had just devoured some animal before making her grand public appearance.

“Crazy enough, I had a steak before I left tonight and I would never have eaten one before. One day I just woke up and craved meat.”

Crazy, indeed.

One study published in Hypertension found children of women who consumed a diet high in animal protein and low in carbohydrates had higher blood pressure as adults.

Hopefully, in three months Tiffani will be back on the veggie wagon and little baby will never be forced to eat pureed beanie weenies when it starts to show some incisors.

“Jack’s Mannequin” Andrew McMahon Not Veggie Anymore

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, February 26th, 2010 in Food & Drink, Male Musicians, Male Singers.

Andrew McMahon Visits fuse TV's "Distortion"

Andrew McMahon, musician for the bands Something’s Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin, tried going veg on his last tour, but that lasted as long as a one hit wonder.

From The Phillyist:

We understand that you went vegetarian on that tour, so we have to ask: Did you have trouble resisting the urge to head to Jim’s for a greasy, diet-busting cheesesteak?

“I guess I break all sorts of promises in Philly. Haha. I’m definitely not a veggie anymore, though I do lean that direction. [But] I’ve never been a red meat dude, so cheesesteaks aren’t really my thing, as sacrilegious as that is to admit to a local.”

Vegetarian Star would love to say what happens in Philly stays in Philly, but unfortunately, it gets published on blogs that like to talk about musicians that give into greasesteaks when no one is looking.

Luckily, Andrew’s flexitarian ways that bend him more towards vegetarianism save him from being completely ribbed.

Andrew and the rest of Jack’s Mannequin will be performing at the Electric Factory in Philly. Tickets are sold out, but if you offer someone in the city a great tasting faux cheesesteak, you might score yourself a seat.
