Shanna Moakler Wouldn’t Eat “Biscuit” Or Any Other Animal

Shanna Moakler has released her vegetarian testimonial and what a cute co-star she has in it! Okay, there are two cute co-stars, one being her child, but there’s a non-human animal co-star named Biscuit getting his/her two seconds of fame as well.

Interestingly, she is the ex-wife of Travis Barker, ex Blink 182 drummer who recently survived a horrible plane crash. Wonder what her thoughts are about his newfound meat eating practices he feels he must take on to heal faster?

Watch Moakler make the connection between the animals in our homes and the ones people eat. “You wouldn’t eat Biscuit,” Moakler says, referring to the talks she has with her daughter about being vegetarian.  No, we wouldn’t eat biscuit, but we’d sure like to dog sit for a day or two!

The Veggie Turmoil On Desperate Housewives

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, October 13th, 2008 in Actresses, Not So Vegetarian.

Things don’t always go as planned, expected, or sanely as desired on the ABC hit television series “Desperate Housewives.” But the ladies of Wisteria Lane manage to entertain viewers every Sunday night with endless family, men, and girlfriend issues.

The latest drama involves Bree (played by the lovely redhead Marcia Cross), her daughter Danielle, and Danielle’s child Ben. Little Ben once lived with Bree and Orson and the two pretended to be his parents while Danielle was out in whatever land. Danielle returned, married and wanted her child back. Now Danielle wants to raise Ben as vegetarian, but Bree isn’t too excited about this. (Not sure when Ben was told who his real mother was, but maybe it was somewhere in between all of that mess.)

Bree, evil as a mother can be, manipulates little Ben into eating a hot dog! (A real one, not soy.) As predicted, Danielle is McSteamed

Since you stuck around after all of that and are thankful this is TV life and not yours (or maybe it is?), we’re rewarding you with some veg related quotes from the show. Enjoy!

Since I realized meat is a by product of murder. – Danielle answering Bree’s question as to why she is now a vegetarian.

It’s like tofu, only better. – Ben after tasting his first hot dog (ah…the decline of morality in young people these days starts with what’s on the plate)

You gave him meat and you asked him to lie? – Danielle to Bree after seeing pieces of meat in Ben’s vomit. (Shame on Bree, introducing those bad morals on such a young child. Should have known she was going to get caught.)

Victoria Beckham Grape Munching, Still Needs Cooking Lessons

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, October 13th, 2008 in Female Musicians, Female Singers.

Rumors have been circulating the web lately that Victoria Beckham, wife of David Beckham, is trying to get pregnant. After hearing her describe her new obsession with grapes, you might wonder if it is part of a special diet to help her conceive. But she’s not attempting child #4 with hubby yet-she just really likes her grapes.

“I just can’t put them down,” she said. “I’m not pregnant, and I’m not trying to get pregnant at the moment,” she said in the November edition of U.K. Glamour.

Yeah! Score one for celebrity veg eating. However…She still needs cooking lessons. If we could only get her to make something other than mince meat, lasagna with meat, and spaghetti Bolognese.

But at least she’s not eating those bangers she wants at her restaurant.

Vaguely Vegan Anne Hathaway Hooked On Karen & Sisters

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, October 13th, 2008 in Actresses, Food & Drink.

Anne Hathaway recently appeared on the David Letterman show and said she had quit smoking, gone back to her vegetarian ways, and called herself “vaguely vegan.”

A source says she is really into the organic health line Karen & Sisters and loves the “Tokyo soba noodles, dumplings and veggie turkey.”

We searched and searched and for some reason couldn’t find a Karen & Sisters homepage, but we were able to find some nutritional info on other pages. Tofu nuggets, veggie chicken, and BBQ tofu are also items in the repertoire.

With a delicious lineup like that, who needs dairy? Anne may find her vegan vagueness becoming less and less muddled.
