You know that Pat Thetic of Anti-Flag really digs his vegan cookies.

He likes them so much, when asked what his favorite food was, he answered, “My favorite vegan dish? Vegan chocolate chip cookies! I just had about 10 of them in the bus.”

We’re wondering if this was #1 or #9 of his cookie meal.

One thing’s for sure, after this pic was snapped, that cookie didn’t stick around long!

If you’re in need of a vegan cookie fix, here’s the recipe hookup at vegetarian.about.com, with more than a dozen of different types of cookies to choose from.

Our vote for most interesting sounding vegan cookie: Greek Sesame Brandy Cookies!

“PETA’s Vegan College Cookbook makes me want to go back to school and earn a degree in yum.”

23rd Annual Genesis Awards - ArrivalsActress Jorja Fox hung out with the folks at GreenWithGlamour.com for their seasonal celebrity photoshoot and the crew enjoyed munching on vegan goodies, like curried mango and tempeh sandwiches.

Jorja was a multi-tasker that day as after the photo shoot she put on PETA t-shirt to pose for yet another photo campaign, this time to end the clubbing of Canadian seals.

Back to that tempeh recipe…Yum, yum, yum.

These sandwiches sound pretty simple to make, with chunks of mango and sliced scallions tossed into a pita with tempeh cubes and a dressing containing vegan mayo, curry, and lime.

Not to mention a nice food porn picture to give you something to salivate to.

Visit greenwithglamour.com to view pictures of Jorja from the photoshoot.

And please let us know how your tempeh sandwiches turned out!

Robert Pattinson Can Bite PETA’s Microwave Vegan Cookbook

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, April 6th, 2009 in Actors, Recipes, Videos.

2009 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Hosted By Graydon Carter - Arrivals

The microwave has come a long way. It’s hard to imagine anyone not using one.

But Robert Pattinson has a fairly new relationship with the microwave and the passion between the two is more steamy than removing the plastic film from the frozen dinner tray after it’s cooked.

Pattinson recently mentioned in an interview with GQ that he’s never owned a microwave until he moved to LA. Now that he’s got one, his desires are in overdrive and he’s always looking for new things to nuke.

PETA caught wind of this and are sending him their very own cookbook,  PETA’s Vegan College Cookbook: 275 Easy, Cheap, and Delicious Recipes to Keep You Vegan at School

The cookbook doesn’t officially come out until May. But here’s a lovely infomercial that’ll have you whipping out your credit card at 3:00 AM after watching the one for the Time Life 80s collection.

Now, Rob should have no problem finding something to pop in the box every night. With recipes like Fake Blondes, Pimp My Ramen Noodles, Butt Ugly Sticky Blonds, and Campus Streaker Sausage Dip, we expect Rob and the microwave to be going strong for a while.

Alicia Silverstone To Publish Vegan Diet And Fitness Book

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, November 19th, 2008 in Actresses, Authors, Food & Drink.

Celebrities At The Galaxy vs. Chelsea FC

Move over skinny bitches. Alicia Silverstone is out to prove Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin aren’t the only vegan gals who can give advice about weight loss.

Silverstone’s book, “The Kind Diet,” will be published in the fall of 2009. The book aims to show how your diet both affects your feelings of well being and the environment. Included is a 3-Step program to a better you as well as 75 macrobiotic and vegan recipes.

Director of Rodale publishing company, Pam Krauss said, “Just as importantly, she really makes the plant-based foods that are the cornerstone of her diet sound delicious and indulgent, and her enthusiasm for her program is infectious.”

Silverstone is very outspoken about her veganism and has worked with PETA in the past. She’s even gone so far as to put her dogs on a vegan diet. Could a vegan dog treats cookbook be in the works as well?

The terms of the book deal are not yet disclosed, and neither are any of the recipes. We’re hoping Raw Balls make the cut.
