Vegetarian Star

Alicia Witt, known for her roles in popular televison series like Ally McBeal, Law and Order and Friday Night Lights, spent some time in Oklahoma to film one of her more recent movies, Cowgirls N’ Angels.

Witt took some very pleasant experiences from her visit, including meeting some of the “nicest people I’d ever met.”

She may have eaten the nicest raw vegan meal ever at Matt Kenney OKC.

Eco Chef application

Raw chef guru Bryan Au has his own iphone application.

The Eco Chef App, available from itunes for $1.99, offers dozens of raw, organic, vegetarian and vegan recipes from lasagna to desserts. The user can pick recipes from several cuisine types like American, Italian, Indian and Chinese, which are given as either listed instructions or how to videos. There is also an opportunity to ask Chef Bryan those tricky questions like “Can I substitute walnuts for cashews in the raw cheese?” Personally, we’d stick with the cashews, but it’s best to clear that up with Chef Bryan.

Debuting last month, Eco Chef became quite popular, rising to the top 10 lists of apps on itunes by July 4th.

If you like it raw, you might want to pick up a copy of Raw Food For Real People by Rod Rotondi.

Filled with raw vegan recipes from comfort food favorites like lasagna, pizza and and brownies to more exotic dishes like pad thai, Raw Food not only teaches how to cook raw, but gives arguments for why you should be eating raw.

Chef Rotondi is the owner of Leaf Organics, an LA based raw food enterprise that attracts clients like Woody Harrelson.

The great raw Queen Ani Phyo catered a private event recently, and after all the hard work she stopped by to party with Good Charlotte twin Joel Madden.

Joel was spinning for a party at a West Hollywood hotel, but took the time to pose for the camera with Ani, who complimented him and partner Nicole Ritchie for making such great green efforts.

“Joel Madden is married to gorgeous Nicole Richie, and they’re both committed to living eco green. For their 2nd child’s room, they choose non-toxic paints for the walls, organic cotton sheets, and wood products made from reclaimed sustainable wood from the Brazilian rain forest.”

Ani has catered to several stars, including the band Maroon 5.
