Rachelle Carson Begley and her husband Ed Begley Jr. try to live as green a life as possible, although, if you tune into their Planet Green Channel show, “Living with Ed,” you’ll find they aren’t always in agreement, as Rachelle’s zest meter for an eco and veggie friendly lifestyle is always running with a little less fuel.

One area of green Rachelle doesn’t skip though is her family and home, as she told Celebrity Baby Scoop, that although she thinks men get into the green movement for energy or financial savings, women do so to protect their families.

“We have drop tolerant plants and our whole yard is filled with fruit trees. We have 4 fig trees, 3 apple trees, 3 orange and 2 lemon. We also have a vegetable garden. We live like anyone else, but we have a few more restrictions and we try a little extra to get organic foods. We’re mostly a vegetarian household too.”

Rachelle also keeps the plastics, parabens and toxic cleaning supplies out of the kitchen and bathroom.

“Look under your sinks and look what you are exposing yourself and your children to. Something like Fantastic or Tilex works instantaneously, but look at the downsides of those chemicals going into your water stream. You are breathing those chemicals and they are going onto your skin.”

Rachelle Carson Begley is talking about a new line of earth friendly skincare products.

Bella Vé Natural Skin Care products contain ingredients found in nature like aloe vera and are described as “chemical and cruelty-free” on its website.

Cruelty-free can have different meanings, from the finished product not being tested on animals to containing no animal ingredients at all, and it’s not clear from the site what definition Bella Vé uses.

A few of the ingredients listed in the cleansers, toners and moisturizers (which can be checked against an animal ingredient database) can be obtain from animals or available in synthetic, such as urea, allantoin and glycerin.

Depending on your level of ethics, more investigation may be needed.

“I was excited to finally find a skin care line that nourishes, hydrates and fights aging, all while fitting into my active and ‘green’ lifestyle. When I first started using Bella Vé products, I immediately noticed a difference in the texture, fine lines, and firmness of my skin. Bella Vé products have truly made a difference in my skin, while also saving me time in my daily routine. I highly recommend them to everyone.”

Bella Vé bottles and jars are also recyclable.

Alliance For Children's Rights' 2nd Annual "Dinner With Friends"

Ed Begley Jr. and Rachelle Carson are the perfect example of a vegan and an omnivore making it work when dining out.

The couple recently told the LA Times where they go to grab a bite in Studio City, California that can please both of their palates.

Ed Begley Jr.: Our favorite restaurant is probably the Vegan Plate right here in Studio City. I live at that place. Also the Outtake Cafe. It’s right in the neighborhood too. You can go in there casual, in jeans, but it’s still really good food.

Rachelle Carson: Ed usually walks there — he walks everywhere — and I’ll drive right behind him in the car. I usually order the salmon, it’s excellent, and they’ve also got the best Chinese chicken salad.

EB: I’m a vegan, but they’re able to accommodate us. I like the soups and vegetable plates, and they have terrific salads.

Are you in a mixed diet relationship where you have to compromise to enjoy a lunch or dinner that suits both of you?
