Kelly Clarkson Vows Never To Cook Turkey Again

Women`s World Awards - Show

We know not all vegetarians cook for their meat eating buddies, but some, like Kristen Bell do.

Last year Kelly Clarkson roasted bird with her family for Thanksgiving, even though she’s been vegetarian for more than year.  However, she found it so exhausting, she vowed never to do it again.

From her blog:

“so i’ve been in texas since ending the tour. i’ve been hanging with family during the holidays and i made my first turkey with my sister this year ….which is kind of hilarious seeing as how i haven’t eaten meat in over a year, but it was fun to make. and by fun, i mean our turkey was awesome and everything but i’ll never do it again. it was freakin’ exhausting!! i had to wake up at 5 in the morning, the night before we had to brine the dang thing, and oh my lord i’ll never do it again. my sister and i made the ENTIRE meal and i gotta be honest it gave me a whole new respect for housewives because it was just tiring!!”

Someone should whisper to Kelly that a Tofurky takes a lot less time to prepare. Just thaw, unwrap, do a little basting and bake for about an hour and a half. No brining and no wiping up the potential salmonella residue left behind.

And the housewives can rest and watch television all day, making the family think they’ve worked their butts off!

Kristen Bell Doesn’t Flex Mussels With Friends

The Alzheimer's Association's 17th Annual

We already know that Kristen Bell doesn’t mind sharing company with omnivores. She doesn’t even mind sharing her crockpot with their food.

So it’s no surprise that she was seen out and about with friends at a seafood restaurant in New York, Flex Mussels.

Her friends ate way too much sea kitten, but Kristen helped herself to a helping a Flex fries.

Everyone in the group got to enjoy the same dessert-homemade donuts to go.

Wonder if Kristen thought about speaking up and going to a different restaurant with more vegetarian options? Looks like she got caught in a Patrick Stump steakhouse situation.

Or she could just love those Flex Fries.

Heather Mills: Builders Can’t Be Choosers

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, February 13th, 2009 in Models.

Farm Sanctuary's 2008 Gala

The story we posted about Kristen Bell cooking chicken in her crock pot for her roommates even though she herself is a vegetarian makes for some discussion: Do you think most vegetarians are opposed to cooking meat, even when it’s for someone they know personally? What if a vegetarian had a company or employees to look after? Would all the company parties be veg?

When Heather Mills treated the staff of builders on her Sussex home to a Christmas feast,  the workers were a little disappointed to learn the meal was vegan.

Monster and Critics reported one of them saying, “We couldn’t believe we were getting a slap-up meal. But it’s all strictly vegetarian – they’ve just shaped the stuff to look like turkey. What’s the point of that?”

The workers took it all in good stride, since Heather was at least serving enough alcohol for them to wash the Tofurky taste from their mouths.

“We will choke it down. After all, Heather’s not against alcohol. Apparently there’s going to be plenty to drink.”

Heather is a staunch vegan, so it would have been strange to hear she was serving meat for them. But what about the rest of you? If you were in Heather’s position, or if you were treating a staff of your employees or contractors, would you force the vegginess on them for that meal?

Kristen Bell Likes Her Crock Pot

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards - InStyle/Warner Bros. After Party - Arrivals

Actress Kristen Bell is really excited about the upcoming release of a new movie she’s in, Fanboys, where she plays a fanatic Star Wars fan.

But maybe not as excited as she is to cook with her crock pot.

The vegetarian actress revealed in an interview with Fandango that she’s even cooking meat…gasp…in it. Not to worry too much, as Kristen’s still veg all the way, but cooked something for her roommates:

“I’ve been really into using the crock pot lately, which is amazing because you can put anything fresh or frozen in there and it cooks for 10 hours and you have a stew. It’s fantastic! I actually cooked meat for the first time the other day. I made a dish that was somehow fried chicken with Italian dressing and A1 sauce. It was so weird and the reviews were stellar—I made it for my roommates and they really liked it. I didn’t eat it, but I figure it’s about time I learned to cook it.”

C’mom Kristen! Show your roommates how to really use that crock pot and cook up some veggie stews to serve alongside some seitan steak.

Wonder why she felt it was time to learn to cook meat? Does she anticipate having to cook meat for a future husband like Victoria Beckham does?
