Heather Mills Vegan Businesses Skating On Thin Ice

ABBAWORLD Exhibition - World Premiere Arrivals

Heather Mills‘ is a vegan entrepreneur who’s business accomplishments include acquiring Redwood Whole Foods company and opening a vegan cafe, V Bites in the UK.

But could her high hopes of being a successful veggie business guru be smashed by financial issues?

The Daily Mail reports recent low customer numbers at the V Bites Cafe and says profits at Redwood are at best modest, based on her possible plans for expansion.

“At present, although Redwood has a £3million turnover, its profits are pretty modest – in the last accounts they stood at £309,000. Not really a yearly sum that can keep Heather at the rate she is spending.”

Heather insists on giving back to communities, as her Hunts Point Alliance Charity continues to serve impoverished families in the Bronx in the U.S.

‘I have created a free cafe for the people to eat whenever they want,” Mills said.

“The million dollars are in the bank for them. I have given my life to charities.”

Heather Mills “Dancing On Ice” With Less Vegan Muffins

Heather Mills Has A New Look And A New Cause?

Heather Mills is competing in this season’s Dancing On Ice, which premiers tonight at 9PM on ITV1.

According to The Evening Times, Heather took the time to bring vegan cakes to the show’s participants this year, but is trying to stay away from the dairy and egg free desserts herself.

“I am looking forward to wearing my catsuits but I’ve had to be careful not to put weight on and stay off my vegan chocolate muffins!” Heather said, according to The Sun.

Fattening up the competition is a great way to gain an edge.

Heather Mills Beef With Walkers Crisps

Heather Mills Launches V-Bites Restaurant

There’s nothing worse than finding out your favorite snack isn’t all that vegan or vegetarian because the company has changed the recipe.

Heather Mills was less than pleased after discovering Walkers Crisps added dried milk to its salt and vinegar chips.

During a recent Tweet, Heather said:

“Just got off the train, most disappointed as Walkers salt and vinegar crisps have now added dried milk as an ingredient, yet they want to reduce their carbon footprint.”

“Never mind, eliminate lactose intolerant nibblers as well [as] vegans, does anyone know anyone at Walkers????”

Right on, Heather.

It’s always interesting to learn that companies put such non veg ingredients in seemingly vegetarian items.

Like beef broth in vegetable soup.

C’mon, now.

Do we really need to add animal ingredients to something so pure, delicious and healthy?

When it comes to veg food, manufacturers should follow the KISS policy–Keep It Simple Stupid.

Redwood Foods

The recently acquired by Heather Mills Redwood Wholefood Company has been named UK’s Most Ethical Vegetarian Food Supplier for the 4th year in a row.

Four years a winner?

Must be like the intense pressure of keeping a 4.0 GPA.

The Ethical Company Organization (ECO) lists the maker of vegetarian foods in its latest edition of The Good Shopping Guide, an ethical reference book.

Redwood received a 91% in its Ethical Company Index, which was the highest score received based on the company’s policies and actions towards the environment, human rights, and animal welfare.

“Concern for the environment, human rights and animal welfare has always been at the heart of everything Redwood does,” Heather said. “We pride ourselves in offering the very best in ethical meat-free foods that help people adopt a kinder, more compassionate lifestyle.”

“I’d particularly like to thank the incredibly loyal and conscientious employees at Redwood, who believe passionately in all that they do, for their endless support and enthusiasm, because they have made the company what it is today.”

Linda McCartney Foods and Quorn are other vegetarian brands featured in the guide, but received lower scores than Redwood.

Heather Mills V Bites Learning Cafe For Hunts Point Alliance (Video)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 in Food & Drink, Videos.

Heather Mills recently opened a V Bites Learning Cafe to children helped by the Hunts Point Alliance for Children.

The video shows the ribbon cutting ceremony as well as a deliciously wicked panorama of vegan food porn.

Here’s what Heather had to say:

“I had a dream about seven years ago to try and come up with a solution to get children to get off the fast food and save more animals, make them more healthy and ultimately save the planet. Unless we start reducing the consumption of meat and dairy there is no future for the children. It’s the biggest contributor to global warming. Hasn’t been acknowledged yet, they’ve acknowledged it as the second biggest contributer, but the consumption of meat and dairy is the biggest contributor to global warming. It will come out in a few years when we get brave enough to say it.”

There are no words to describe how incredible this woman is.

Heather Mills V Bites Bites Differently Than Thought

Heather Mills Launches V-Bites Restaurant

We reported earlier that Heather Mills had opened a U.S. version of her V Bites vegan restaurant and cafe.

He, he, he, just kidding.

Actually, reports on the web were slightly incorrectly and the center in Bronx is the Hunts Point Alliance for Children (HPAC) community gathering space and distribution center.

So while the restaurant isn’t up yet, perhaps there is chatter going on at HPAC headquarters?

HPAC is the charity that Heather used to donate over a million dollars in vegan food to the area last year.

More information on the distribution center can be found here.

Heather Mills V Bites The Bronx Opening [Update]

Heather Mills Launches V-Bites Restaurant

Update: V  Bites The Bronx isn’t here yet.

Vegan foodies in the U.S. will be glad to hear that Heather Mills has opened a V Bites restaurant in the Bronx, New York.

This comes just months after the grand opening of V Bites in Hove Lagoon in the UK.

Heather personally was present at the opening yesterday afternoon.

Heather’s no stranger to the area, as she’s worked with a charity of hers, Hunts Point Alliance, serving underprivileged Bronx children and families.

Last year, Heather donated over a million dollars of vegan food to children and families in the Bronx area and has also taught weekend cooking classes.

It was rumored months ago that Heather was looking in the NY area to open her vegan restaurant, but after V Bites in the UK opened its doors, many assumed Heather was done for awhile.

Thank goodness she’s like the vegan Energizer Bunny and shows no signs of stopping.
