MacBeth shoes gets a lot of press for its vegan line from celebrities like Hunter Burgan, but has Jason Mraz given TOMS Shoes a publicity boost as well?

The musician was reportedly sporting a pair during what was called a “super chill interview.”

The shoes Jason is wearing look similar to the Dolina line, but the Dolinas are described as having leather insoles.

Is there a Dolina vegan line not yet available to the public?

TOMS does however, have its share of vegan shoes, including a style created to benefit Charlize Theron‘s charity.

Gracias Madre offers 100% completely organic and vegan food and all cheese, milk and ice cream is created from nuts.

Saturday Night Live featured a hilarious clip mocking Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz and Dave Matthews.

“Jason” walks in and “Jack” says “vegan cookies” and asks Jason what he’s been up to.

“Oh, the usual,” Jason says.

“Maintaining my avocado farm,” he added.

Jason’s recipe for chocomole containing chocolate, agave syrup and avocado might be even better than vegan cookies.

Try Jason’s chocomole after watching the clip!

Jason Mraz Gratitude Concert Began With Mystery Vegan Food Bowl

Farm Aid 2009

Jason Mraz is set to give his gratitude concert tomorrow  October 11 in San Diego, a chance to thank his fans by selling tickets for as little as $1 and spotlight several local charities.

Jason’s tour, the Gratitude Cafe tour, is named after one of his favorite vegan restaurants, but there’s more to the story.

“On the menu they had a `gratitude bowl,’ a food item where you didn’t know what you would get and you could pay 50 cents, $50 or whatever you wanted,” Mraz said. “It was a way to practice generosity and humility, and get a big, hearty bowl of food.”

Mraz’s concert tomorrow was created based on the same theme of giving.

“So, I thought this would be a great way to end the tour and have a ‘gratitude bowl’ (for tickets), where people can pay nothing or as much as they want. People can come out to the venue early with their families and, if they want, check out the local charities we’re working with.”

As expected, the show at the Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre tomorrow is already sold out.

Woody Harrelson Comfort Foods Include Mango, Avocado

Woody Harrelson visits 'The Late Show with David Letterman' in NYC

Woody Harrelson doesn’t find pleasure in mac and cheese, warm cornbread, or any other traditional comfort food.

If the zombies invaded Hollywood much like they did in Zombieland, Woody would be headed for the produce section of the store, not the sweet aisle to find Twinkies like his Zombieland character Tallahassee.

“I’d be searching for a mango,” Woody told New York Times. “Or an avocado. It really is a tough call between the two.”

Avocado?

Maybe Woody should pay Jason Mraz a visit. He, Jason and Olivia Wilde could go crazy on the green fruit.

What’s your comfort food during hard or stressful times, zombies or no zombies peeking through your window?

Jason Mraz Fish Taco Sins Revealed

Written by Vegetarian Star on Sunday, October 4th, 2009 in Food & Drink, Male Musicians, Male Singers, Not So Vegetarian.

Jason Mraz Performs On NBC's "Today"

So back when Jason Mraz called himself a vegan fishitarian, we wondered if Jason really did sneak some occasional fish or was attempting another one of his sarcastic remarks.

We feared the worst, and it’s true. According to sfgate.com, Jason remains vegan for most of the time, but gives in to flipper ever now and then.

Q: Do you ever give into temptation and microwave a convenience store bacon cheeseburger?

A: No, I never give in. Only when I’m home in San Diego. That’s when you might find me pulling in for a fish taco.

Ah, the disappointment!

Jason’s diet for the other 99% of the time is convenient as it saves him the hassle of prep time on the road.

“My food is mostly raw vegan. You don’t have to cook too much when you’re in that world. So I might steam some quinoa, and then everything else is just fresh produce. Otherwise you’re eating truck-stop food, which is no bueno.”

Jason Mraz and the fish taco. Russell Simmons and his occasional egg noodles. Are there any good 100% real vegan men standing?

Jason Mraz Shows Gratitude Cafe To Charities

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, September 28th, 2009 in Male Musicians, Male Singers.

Jason Mraz - Gratitude Cafe U.S. Summer Tour 2009

Jason Mraz was recently interviewed by Mike Ragogna of the Huffington Post, where it was revealed that for his final show on the Gratitude Cafe tour, in San Diego, fans can pay what they want to attend.

“You can come and pay a dollar or seventy-five dollars, or you can go online for some of our best seats for probably a couple o’ hundred dollars,” said Mraz. “Or you can come with your pockets empty and learn about the local charities we’re going to have on hand. It was a way for me to give back to my community, and also, hopefully, a way to inspire that community to pay it forward.”

Some of the proceeds from the concert go towards various charities.

“The San Diego Youth Services, VH1 Save The Music, and the Surfrider foundation are our three main beneficiaries, and we’re getting hit up by many other charities who are probably going to be on hand on that day.”

Being so charitable must mean Jason knows there’s something bigger to life than being selfish. Is this due to his vegan diet?

“Let’s say you’re a vegan or if you choose to eat raw food. Well, that makes you a little more conscious about what you’re putting in your body, therefore, raising your consciousness, if you will. And the same thing goes for being conscious about thoughts, your own thoughts, and what you’re telling yourself, how you’re living your life, how you’re creating a life experience for yourself. That is definitely going to bring in how the world shows up for you, and how you can see the world improve in certain areas, or how you could inspire certain people to improve their work or outreach and share a little more of life’s resources. There’s really no limit as to how far you can go, and hopefully, the concert we do in San Diego will continue to speak that message.”
