Sarah Silverman has written a heartfelt tribute to her beloved pet dog she adopted at a California shelter 14 years ago.

Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson is quite fond of his tiger friend in The Hangover.

In real life, he’s just as enamored with the big cats and he recently said during an interview that he’s owned several of them and curls up with them in bed just like many do with a kitty from the shelter.

Only his kitty comes from a bigger shelter–at least the size of a sanctuary–and Tyson probably has to scoop much bigger things out of the litter box for it.

Below are a few highlights from the interview with Conan O’Brien:

“My impulse came from a documentary about rastros, which is what they call slaughterhouses in Mexico. And in this documentary, you could see the cruelty that the animals suffered and the way in which they kill them and how they leave them to bleed out. Tempeh kabobs

When Washington Post food editor Joe Yonan was invited to a summer cookout, he warned the host in advance he was veggie.

The host had no problem–just advised him he’d be cooking his own dinner.

It may not sound like the best of hospitality, but it gave the newly vegan who just published the cookbook, Eat Your Vegetables, a great reason to try tempeh kebobs, a perfect dish to make before the fall season hits and the weather turns cooler.

Michelle Pfeiffer is gracing the cover of the October 2013 issue of Ladies Home Journal.

Looking better than ever, the 55-year old actress partially credits her looks her good fortune to the vegan diet she currently follows, but she hasn’t always been a model for good eating.

Contrast her plant-based diet to the one she ate in her 20s, for example.
