2012 had some great moments for vegetarians and vegans.

And some not so great ones.

Here are Vegetarian Star‘s top Not So Vegetarian stories of celebrities and people in the news that have turned heads, offended and or just looked a little ridiculous.

#5. Mayor Bloomberg Washes Down Wieners Without Soda.
NYC’s mayor attended a competitive overeating contest (also known as hot dog eating contest) where the winners consumed dozens of processed, chemical filled animal wieners. He also ate one himself. Thank goodness he found time to attend this in the midst of his campaign to limit soda consumption to curb obesity. Because soda is the only real evil in making people fat. Not 60 hot dogs.

#4 Conan Whips Out His Wiener.
Not exactly indecent exposure, but the World’s Largest Chicago-Style hot dog does expose one to an increased risk of diabetes and cancer.

Rick Warren, the sometimes controversial and popular pastor and best-selling author thinks eating wraps that sound healthy is the equivalent of breaking a commandment.

At least if you’re a man.

In a recent Tweet, the pastor wrote that “real men don’t eat wraps (except for burritos).”

He later clarified this statement to a follower saying this transgression would be okay if the wrap contained bacon.

This may come as a surprise, considering the brothers were previously involved with PETA campaigns and at least member of the group professed to be vegetarian.

Katie Aselton of FX’s The League explained her dating rules to Vulture.

A good sense of humor and being able to cook all put men in Aselton’s league for potential partners.

Bill Clinton was talking to Piers Morgan on the requirements for presidential candidacy when he  remarked that he could be the president of France for several reasons.

“There are only two countries I’m eligible to run for the leadership position is if I move to Ireland and buy a house, I can — I can run for president of Ireland, because of my Irish heritage.

“And because I was born in Arkansas, which is part of the Louisiana Purchase, any person anywhere in the world that was born in a place that ever was part of the French empire, if you move to — if you live in France for six months and speak French, you can run for president.”

French journalist Layla Demay has a different view of Clinton running France. In an article at the Huffington Post, Demay wrote she doubts anyone who doesn’t eat meat and dairy to ever hold such as position.

Justin Bieber was urged by fellow R&B singer Usher to adopt a vegan diet.

It appears that Bieber conceded, but is playing passive-aggressive about it and grossing everyone out at the same time.

Instead of letting everyone know how delicious his tofu stir-fry and seitan burger are, Bieber has repeatedly made vomit noises when his food arrives and can’t find anything nice to say about it.
