Shania Twain

“It’s a personal thing. I would never preach vegetarianism.”

“It’s such a personal choice. It’s got to suit you, and be right for you: emotionally, spiritually and physically. If it’s working for you, that’s really great.”

Shania Twain, on her choice to adhere to a vegetarian diet that includes cheese but not eggs.

“I like to say I’m more a plant-based diet rather than vegan; I do play a sport that uses leather and that type of thing.”

“The hardcore vegans would probably still hate me.”

–Test cricket athlete Peter Siddle during an interview. While we’re all hoping for universal pleather balls and rackets, if every vegan athlete were judged by his or her attire or equipment, the veg community would have no sports heroes. Meatless Mouthful–Rick Warren Praises The Plant

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, December 9th, 2013 in Authors, Food & Drink, Meatless Mouthful.

Rick Warren

“If it grows on a plant, it’s healthy. If it’s made in a plant, don’t eat it.”

Rick Warren, popular pastor who recently lost weight on a diet that emphasized more vegetables. The Daniel Plan: 40 Days to a Healthier Life, is co-written with two physicians and details how Warren and his congregation shed a total of 250,000 pounds!

So nice to hear that the preacher has experienced a rebirth and is saying good things about meatless meals in contrast to his previous blasphemous talk about the vegetarian wrap.

“I was vegan for four and a half years. I saw this documentary, “Forks Over Knives,” and it really said being a vegan’s too extreme, and being a red-meat eater’s too extreme every day. You have to find balance. Balance is what I never had but I needed. Either I’m on top of the world, spending a lot of money, or else I’m in the sewage. I’m not on top of the world, and I’m not in the sewage. This is really new for me.”

Mike Tyson, in an interview with the LA Times. He may not be as strict with his vegan ways these days, but let’s hope he’s still mostly vegetarian.
