Comments Off on Who Would You: Michael Bolton Or Erykah Badu
Both singers are due for some vegan birthday cake this month. Both can belt out a soulful tune. So between Michael Bolton and Erykah Badu, who would you rather do…
Times are tough, and most of you are probably pinching the pocketbook and food is no exception.
Beans, lentils, and pasta are a cheap way for veggies to survive, but have you considered grits? Better yet, grits with Morningstar Farms Veggie Bacon?
Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA has a song with Masta Killa and Allah Real from one of his albums, Birth of a Prince, called “Grits.”
RZA, like other members of Wu Tang Clan, is a vegetarian and he sings about hard times and cheap eatin’ while mentioning “Morningstar Veggie Bacon go good with the grits.”
Comments Off on Who Would You: Benji Or Joel, The Brothers Madden Edition
Identical Good Charlotte twins Benji and Joel Madden have recently teamed up with Denny’s to create vegetarian and vegan burritos on the restaurant’s Rock Star menu. So you know that either man you choose will be able to make you that home cooked meal that Carrie Underwood wants everyday. If all else fails, just have them take you Denny’s. Who would you rather…
Being the handsome vegan man he is, Moby is going to have his stalkers.
The latest obsessive fan is full of more plastic than Hollywood.
This looks like something you might watch during Spike Feresten’s Comedy For Stoners.
A plastic Barbie doll is obsessed with Moby in Cassidy Loves Moby, now playing on the Sundance Channel.
“Here I am,” she says in one episode. “Alone at the airport, chasing after some rock star. He comes to me in my dreams.”
Um, yeah. Many levels of creepiness.
Cassidy appears in various scenes blabbing about how much she is into the musician and in between her love gushes are clips with Moby interviews, quotes from his blog, and his tunes.
But we really need to know more about this doll’s diet before she tries to score with the “Troubles So Hard,” singer. As a healthy vegan, he’ll probably want someone similar.
The clip below shows her on an airplane seat with a package of what looks to be junk food goodies next to her, but little else is given on her diet. Those junk goodies could be bacon flavored.

Years of Refusal will be released tomorrow, February 17th and it will be Morrissey’s first studio album since 2006’s UK #1 Ringleader of the Tormentors. This month, Morrissey will begin touring in the U.S.
You can bet workers on his tour will only be eating veg. A longtime vegetarian, Morrissey has worked with PETA and never fails to speak up when it comes to animal issues.
Morrissey is often recognized as the most important British musician of his generation. The New York Times recently stated, ”Morrissey isn’t just any singer: he has become one of the defining rock stars of the past few decades by virtue of his grand voice, his grander songs, and his charming habit of playing with melodrama”.
His influence is felt worldwide through the countless artists that cite him as their primary inspiration. Years of Refusal is a masterful work that finds Morrissey and the band at their best with a muscular sound and the inimitable voice and lyrics of a legend.

Comments Off on Jimmy Osmond: Ice Cream Nemesis, Veg Diet, And Health
Jimmy Osmond is the youngest of what was practically a musical royalty-the family that includes Donny and Marie-the Osmonds.
Although he tries to stick to a vegetarian diet, he does have an occasional McDonald’s breakdown every now and then.
‘My nemesis is ice cream – I love it so much – and I do have the occasional McDonald’s cheeseburger, but generally I avoid foods such as red meat and fry-ups,” Osmond told the UK Daily Mail.
“Actually, I try to stick to a vegetarian diet.”
The singer has a congenital defect that led to a stroke a few years ago, Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) – a hole in the septal wall that separates the right and upper left chambers of the heart.
After other Osmond siblings (who remain anonymous) were tested, it was revealed they too had the same congenital condition.
Jimmy’s illness surprised him because he always felt healthy, had normal test results at the doctor, and although his family had a tendency to put on weight easily, he remained for the most part healthy.
He serves as proof that no one is immune to serious illness, regardless of health and diet. As vegetarians or vegans, we often think we are invincible, without realizing that even diet can only protect you from so much.
Have you or a fellow veg you know suffered a serious health problem that had nothing to do with your diet and lifestyle. Was it hard to accept and cope with, since you knew you were doing all you could to be healthy?
