Jackson Browne knows he should become vegetarian, but it’s the little things like Iberian ham that would make him give into temptation.

The one area of his animal eating life he’s looking to improve is seafood and it’s his mission to eat sea life that’s not endangered.

“I think I’m going to have to make it my business to find out which seafood is sustainable and which isn’t,” he says in the video from the Huffington Post.

If you’re a pescatarian, the Environmental Defense Fund has a handy chart listing seafood by Eco-Best, Eco-Ok and Eco-Worse based on what’s best for the health of the ocean and humans.

Christofer Ingle of Never Shout Never turned vegan about a year ago, but he may be closer to one of those “vegan in the home” kind of people.

When Beatweek asked him how he keeps this up on the road, Ingle answered, “I’ll sometimes dabble into, like, a cheese pizza and what not. But other than that I’m pretty much a vegan. I try to eat all natural and stuff.”

Does dabbling into cheese pizza when you’re in the middle of nowhere with low blood sugar make you a terrible vegan?

Probably not.

Would a little planning on the road by stocking a freezer full of frozen vegetarian entrees, something similar to what Death Cab for Cutie does, help keep Ingle on the straight course?

Probably so.

What are some ways you’ve circumvented eating animal products when there’s seemingly no other options?

24th Genesis Awards - Arrivals

You already know that Moby is sensitive about his pancakes.

Thankfully, he does have other talents to help his self-esteem, and a therapist one day reminded him of what a great smoothie maker he was.

Still, it doesn’t help when you insult his pancakes.

“A few years ago, I was in therapy and my therapist kept asking me to name some things I did well. I mentioned making smoothies. It was sad that I couldn’t think of something more significant. It’s açaí juice, almond milk, frozen bananas, blackberries, spirulina powder and cacao powder. I put it in my crummy blender and make one smoothie. I take my ugly, dark, purple smoothie and I sit at my laptop.”

Smoothies are a class in their own, which is why you aren’t likely to find too many cookbooks with an entire chapter devoted to them.

Who needs them anyway, when you’ve got Smoothies: 50 Recipes for High Energy Refreshment, which utilizes soy, yogurt and milk to instruct you how to whip up the perfect fruit concoction.

“Earth Crisis is one of my favorite bands ever. They are the reason why I am vegan and straight edge. The origins of most of my philosophical/political beliefs come from them introducing me to a whole new way of thinking. When I was asked to fill in on the upcoming tour, I was beyond stoked. It felt like being called up to the major league, and I think that this will be the most fun I will have on a tour. Be sure to come check it out because this is a band whose songs beat in my heart and who have never forgotten how to write brutally awesome songs.”

Andy Hurley, on how the vegan, straight edge metal band Earth Crisis changed his life. Hurley will be joining the band that promotes animal rights and a vegan lifestyle shortly after it starts up its next tour on April 22.

Paul McCartney performs in concert in Miami

Last week, Paul McCartney rented a gourmet mobile kitchen for $7,000 to make those 480 vegetarian meals a day his staff is fed to keep the tour going.

This seven grand gig is just a temp though–Paul’s own mobile kitchen is currently still under construction.

A representative from the company that rented the kitchen to Paul said it was everything you would expect from a five star resort kitchen.

Paul has completely banned meat from his tour.

Five star kitchen for five star meals?

As fellow vegetarian Bob Barker might say, sounds like the price is just right!

The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards - Show

Dave Matthews and his wife Jennifer Ashley Harper and their friends were spotted having dinner at The Vanderbilt, a restaurant in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y.

According to People, a source said the couple ate flash-fried broccoli and Brussels sprouts.

According to WikiAnswers, Flash frying is like stir frying, only quicker with super high heat.

Flash fried vegetables sound delicious, especially when seasoned with spices like garlic or onion, but the Veg Star would have likely opted for another vegetable besides Brussels sprouts.

Eww!
