Ariana Grande and Andy Hurley were chosen as Sexiest Vegetarians of the Year in a poll by readers of PETA2.

Both the singer and drummer are not only vegetarians, but vegans.

Grande said in an interview with V magazine: “In America, almost everybody thinks you need to have meat for protein. Protein, protein, protein! And what’s in dairy? Calcium, calcium, calcium. Look, cows produce milk with nutrients for cows.”

Fallout Boy Andy Hurley

Fall Out Boy is back after a brief hiatus.

Fans of the band have seen it go through a lot of changes since its birth in 2001, but those who have been around can still remember hit tunes like “Sugar, we’re goin’ down” and “Dance, Dance,” like it was yesterday.

The guys have seen members come and go and some have started families. But the one thing that hasn’t wavered in the last decade or so is the diet of drummer Andy Hurley.

Hurley has a podcast with PETA2 where he discusses how much veganism has changed–for the better.

“Earth Crisis is one of my favorite bands ever. They are the reason why I am vegan and straight edge. The origins of most of my philosophical/political beliefs come from them introducing me to a whole new way of thinking. When I was asked to fill in on the upcoming tour, I was beyond stoked. It felt like being called up to the major league, and I think that this will be the most fun I will have on a tour. Be sure to come check it out because this is a band whose songs beat in my heart and who have never forgotten how to write brutally awesome songs.”

Andy Hurley, on how the vegan, straight edge metal band Earth Crisis changed his life. Hurley will be joining the band that promotes animal rights and a vegan lifestyle shortly after it starts up its next tour on April 22.

Los Premios MTV 2009 - Show

Fall Out Boy veggie drummer Andy Hurley will be joining Earth Crisis for their upcoming tour, according to Punk News.

Hurley once attributed the lack of tabloid gossip about him to the fact that he’s a straight edge vegan who’ll never get caught doing things like, “stumbling out of a bar drunk.”

Earth Crisis is known for its involvement and support of animal rights issues and also maintaining a straight edge vegan life and speaking out on political issues.

Sounds like Andy will feel right at home.

Andy Hurley Shows Off Vegan Fridge On MTV Cribs

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, March 11th, 2009 in Food & Drink, Male Musicians, Videos.

Andy Hurley recently showed off his home on MTV Cribs and opened his fridge to show the world a plethora of vegan goodies, what he described as, “Everything a real American needs to eat.”

Wow. Vegan and patriotic.

So what does this real American Fall Out Boy eat? Silk soy yogurt, Tofutti Cutie Ice Cream Snacks, Amy’s Frozen meals, Earth Balance Vegan Butter, Health is Wealth Vegan Chicken Nuggets, and Vegenaise were just a few of the items the camera caught.

Other veg stars have opened their kitchen to MTV Cribs, including Russell Simmons.

Watch the video and play a “Where’s Waldo” kind of game to count how many vegan items the camera caught in Andy’s fridge. Then tell us how many you found!

Pete Wentz Gettin’ Furry Wit It

2008 MTV Video Music Awards - Arrivals

Whatever happened to Pete Wentz?

The Fall Out Boy was once a vegan, then vegetarian, and now is neither. Plus, he’s sporting furry boots lately. What gives?

Sure, there’s a good chance it’s fake fur. But there’s a good chance it isn’t.

Back to the whole vegetarian thing. Between him and Oh, Joe who did, that leaves only two veg men standing-Patrick Stump and Andy Hurley.

Sigh…It would have been fun watching little Bronx grow up loving his seitan and veggies.

Who Would You: Pick Your Fall Out Boy

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, January 7th, 2009 in Male Musicians, Male Singers, Polls/Surveys, Who Would You.

Singer Patrick Stump is for those who like submissive types, as he won’t even speak up to get a good vegetarian meal, settling for the mundane salad. Drummer Andy Hurley looks exciting with his tattoos, but truth be told, he’s just a non-eventful straight edge who likes to make up health drinks in his spare time. Blah! But still, which member of Fall Out Boy would you…

Oh, Joe He Didn’t!

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, January 5th, 2009 in Male Musicians, Not So Vegetarian.

MTV's TRL

Update: Some sources say he locked his keys in his car in a Wendy’s Parking Lot and gave into a chicken sandwich. Some say Dairy Queen. If anyone can verify the exact meat wh*re he solicited that night, we’d like to set the record straight. Currently, there are no financial prizes, but you’ll be rewarded with pride and joy.

Joe Trohman, lead guitarist for the musical group Fall Out Boy, isn’t a vegetarian or vegan like bandmates Andy Hurley and Patrick Stump.

But there was a time.

He is often quoted as saying he used to be vegetarian. Then one day he found himself in a Dairy Queen parking lot. The rest is carnivore history.

He sure could use an Andy Hurley shake.
