Maxim Kate Stoltzfus

Kate Stoltzfus is one of the stars of Breaking Amish, a TLC series about young Amish and Mennonite young adults who move to New York to experience a life quite different from the one back home.

One of Stoltzfus’ biggest changes since entering the world outside of her community is the chance to sign on for a modeling contract and show a little more skin than she would while wearing her bonnet in the old neighborhood.

Ruben Studdard

Ruben Studdard is looking to add The Biggest Loser to his list of championships that include American Idol.

The singer will compete on the weight loss reality TV show to accomplish a task he was only able to do before by following a vegetarian diet.

“Every week we would start by writing out a meal plan and calories,” Studdard said about losing 70 pounds in 2006 by giving up meat. “The people at the vegetarian store in Birmingham are like, ‘What’s he doing in here?'”

There are so many benefits to a plant-based diet.

Sometimes it’s easy to forget the dangers.

Kyra Sedgwick got a painful reminder that a life of eating vegetables isn’t always pretty as she landed herself in the emergency room after injuring her finger while cutting them.

A photo of her at the ER with gauze and bandage was posted by husband Kevin Bacon.

“Kale isn’t always healthy … if you chop the end of your finger off,” Bacon wrote under the photograph.

“My baby is fine. All good,” he added. “Still can’t find the tip of that finger.”

Jason Mraz Supplies Local Chipotle With Avocado

Chipotle set a goal of sourcing 50% of its ingredients from local suppliers by 2010.

There’s no official statistics available on how close the Mexican restaurant chain got to this number, but in the San Diego, California area, Chipotles are doing guacamole in style with locally-grown, celebrity furnished avocados.

Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz is about as famous for his avocado farm as he is for his music and the details of his farm being a major supplier for the chain are included in Parade magazine.

Dax Shepard

Dax Shepard and his romantic partner Kristen Bell both won PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian in the male and female categories, respectively.

But Shepard has recently sent out a notice that he has to decline the honor, citing giving in to a chicken craving as the reason for disqualification.

The Parenthood actor sent out a Tweet saying: “I’m really flattered to be named ‘Sexiest Vegetarian’ with ?@IMKristenBell, but sadly I can’t accept in good conscience because I eat chicken.”
