"Prom Night In Mississippi" - 2009 Sundance Portrait Session

Director, writer and producer Paul Saltzman will be leading a tour of India in February 2010 where the Beatles visited in 1968.

Saltzman was with Paul McCartney and the others during that trip and recalled how the environment fueled the creative juices of the band.

Q: The India trip was a very creative time for them, especially Paul and John. From your experience there, can you say why?
Paul Saltzman: For sure: creativity comes from deep within each and every one of us, and it’s unlimited, without end. At the ashram, an oasis of calm in their very hectic lives, with the sound of the Ganges River burbling below, flights of green parakeets in the trees, simple vegetarian food and daily meditation, the inner creativity just flowed to the surface.

Of course, creativity works much better when you’ve consumed wholesome, energy producing foods versus refined carbs or greasy meats that will leave you sluggish, drowsy, and motivated to do nothing but take a nap.

Michelle Obama Sesame Street Marxist, Fascist Vegetarian Agenda

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 in Food & Drink, Humor, Politicians, Videos.

Michelle Obama made an appearance with Elmo and other furry friends on Sesame Street, encouraging children to eat and plant vegetables as part of Sesame Street’s 40th year anniversary on air.

Time has chosen to poke fun of Michelle’s green and veggie agenda, describing it as “radical/Marxist/Fascist” and here are a few humorous highlights from the article:

“Sesame Street abounds with animals—a mighty bird, a plump Snuffleupagus—yet no one suggests harvesting this local bounty, as was good enough for the Pilgrims, to provide growing children with protein. What do you have against meat, Mrs. Obama? Why are you trying to force your extremist vegetarian agenda on our children?”

(Insert Our thoughts: Does a free-range Snuffleupagus make it more humane?)

“Also, you know who else was a vegetarian? Hitler! (Unless he wasn’t. But it sounds good.)”

“Finally, you know what else grows in nature? ACORNs! Coincidence? I think not!”

Watch the clip above to see Michelle visit time.com to read all evidence pointing to Michelle’s visit being a radical agenda to push veggies on our children.

Madonna Eats Pizza “The Late Show” David Letterman

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 in Celebrity Sightings, Female Singers, Food & Drink.

Madonna has a slice of pizza at Angelo's after her appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman

It’s cheeseless, looks veggie, but is it vegan?

Madonna got hungry after her appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, so she stopped by Angelo’s next to the Ed Sullivan theatre in the neighborhood for some thin crust pizza.

It’s hard to tell from the pic if there’s any meat on the slice or not, but it looks like it might be veggie.

If so, Madge must be trying to make up for that 110 pounds of meat she purchased in the Holy Land.

It’s going take a lot of veggie pizzas to get here, Madonna, but we’re confident you can do it.
