“The Job” Has Vegetarian Competing For Steakhouse Position

The Job premieres this Friday at 8 P.M. on CBS.

The reality show featuring contestants vying for positions at different companies will feature Alex Carabano, who runs Brooklyn’s vegetarian V-Spot Cafe.

Carabano is competing for a position with The Palm, a group of upscale steakhouses.

As you can imagine, his diet is the subject of scrutiny during the show.

Sadie Frost and Meg Mathews were judges in the first-ever vegan fashion awards sponsored by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

The actress and vegetarian said of her opportunity:

“My two greatest passions are fashion and helping animals, so I was thrilled when PETA asked me to help judge their fashion awards. It’s phenomenal how many retailers and top designers are using pleather, micro-suede and faux cashmere in their collections, and the quality is amazing. The new fabrics are kinder not only to animals but also to the environment.”

February is Black History Month and a great time to not only celebrate civil rights, but highlight the dozens of black community leaders, celebrities and other famous persons who either follow or have followed a diet and promote animal rights as well.

The Reverend Al Sharpton, who once weighed over 300 pounds, found following a mostly vegetarian diet helped him lose over 100 pounds.

“The Taste” Vegan Commentary Summary

After it’s premiere last week, it appears that The Taste is treating vegans like many other reality cooking shows–avoiding them like vegetarians avoid the vegetable soup with chicken broth.

LA Weekly discussed whether or not veganism will have a strong place in this season’s episodes.

The judges may have their reservations, but the show’s producer is hopeful.

A survey by Central Contracts asked 1000 people to name the worst celebrity style catastrophes since 2000.
