Quantcast Vegetarian Stareco-friendly cosmetics

Alicia Silverstone spoke with PopSugar on her new line of vegan, organic, natural cosmetics, Juice Beauty.

“You can get very overwhelmed with all the choices out there. You have these guidelines. You’re like “Okay, I don’t want to have anything unhealthy. And I don’t want this to hurt the planet. And I don’t want it to hurt animals. And I want it to be amazing.”

That’s not too much to ask for and apparently, Juice Beauty has fulfilled Silverstone’s desires, with cosmetics formulated without animal testing and harsh chemicals, packaged in eco-friendly recycled materials.

Alicia Silverstone isn’t the only vegetarian lady who can design an eco-friendly makeup bag.

Lauren Bush, who gave us the pleasure of the lovely interview months ago, has teamed up with Bobbi Brown to bring you the FEED Makeup Bag.

In partnership with the United Nations World Food Program, the $50 organic makeup bag with be available in October from BobbiBrown.com and Bloomingdales.com.

Inside the bags will be three of Bobbi Brown’s best selling lip glosses, but here’s the catch: You might have to throw them out!

Bobbi Brown cosmetics does not test on animals, according to a call made to the company. However, they are not completely animal-free in every formula, although the company tries to avoid animal products and by-products whenever possible.

Keeping in her charitable spirit, Lauren ensured that each FEED bag sold supports 10 women in the U.N.’s Food for Work Program, which provides meals to disadvantaged women who participate in job-training programs.

Lauren, the niece of former U.S.  president George W. Bush, has been designing FEED bags since 2006, and the collection includes a reusable shopping bag.

When a celebrity associates themselves with a cruelty-free product you can’t help but get excited, even if the star isn’t vegetarian.

Lush is a collection of handmade cosmetics that are never tested on animals, vegetarian, and some are even vegan. The UK company’s products have been used by stars such as Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, and Jude Law.

Yes, Jude Law. Cosmetics just aren’t for the gals, you know. Lush has shaving cream, plus all sorts of moisturizers an eco-friendly man needs. Because even though nicking yourself with a razor may hurt, the pain an animal feels in a cosmetic laboratory is far worse.

Lush cosmetics make a great stocking stuffer for holidays gifts this year. Be sure to send this link to friends and family so they’ll know exactly what you’re looking for.
