Leona Lewis has teamed up with The Body Shop to promote an end to animal tested cosmetics and put her name behind a line of limited edition makeup and fragrance collection with the brand.

“I’m passionate about beauty and I’m all about animal rights,” Lewis said. “As a result, I’m really conscious of where the products that I use come from. The Body Shop sells cruelty free, ethical products containing amazing Community Fair Trade ingredients. The collaboration is a natural fit!”

American Idol star Pia Toscano recorded a PSA for PETA on all things animal welfare related.

Toscano touched on the issues of fur, pet ownership and circuses.

“I look back on my relationship with my dog and I know that if I ever saw her in pain, I’d be devasted,” Toscano said in the video.

Beyonce lost 57 pounds after the birth of her daughter Blue Ivy.

Her trainer, celebrity trainer Marco Borges, has revealed some of her secrets for looking great at her Superbowl halftime performance, which includes eating a least one vegan meal a day.

Borges said doing so encourages people to get more greens in their diet.

Ke$ha Honored With Humane Society Wyler Award

Ke$ha will be presented with the Humane Society’s Wyler Award during its annual Genesis Awards Benefit Gala on March 23, 2013.

The award is given to a celebrity or other public figure who increases awareness of animal welfare issues through the media.

“It means so much to me to be recognized by The Humane Society of the United States because advocating for animals is second nature to me,” said Ke$ha.“My affinity with animals and the natural world inspires me and my music. I don’t understand how anyone can justify abusing or exploiting animals, and as long as it continues, I intend to keep talking about it.”

“I guess it’s the daily routine. I don’t have any particular thing I do ritualistically. I do the same thing every day. I get up. Drink a lot of water. Have a wheatgrass shot. Drink some green juice. Eat as healthy as I can. I’m not trying to win an award for being the best vegetarian, just want to be healthy. Take a salt bath. Do things that my parents were never able to do. I’m blessed to do anything I want so I decide to take the best care of my body and my family in the same way. Holistically. Vitally.”

Erykah Badu, in an interview with Huffington Post, when asked how she kept herself “centered” and “grounded” when her schedule lends to anything but.  Badu has been using greens and grains to keep her center and every other part of her body healthy since the late 90s.

Beyonce may have wowed the Superbowl crowd with her real singing and dancing moves onstage, but she failed to impress some at the animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

The singer was dressed in a bodysuit designed by Rubin Singer and according to NME, is believed to have been crafted from python skin, pannelled iguana and leather.
