Missy Higgins

“I’m vegetarian at the moment. I have been vegan in the past but I’ve found it a bit too hard with all the travelling I do. It is possible if your heart is really in it and you have a lot of discipline but I was just spending way too much time trying to find places that could serve me something vegan.”

Missy Higgins, on her wavering plant-based diet. Not only is it hard to find vegan food on the road, it’s much easier to find Tim Tams. Higgins explained the chocolate covered desserts “might be half the reason why I find it so hard to be vegan!”

Erykah Badu

“I guess it’s the daily routine. I don’t have any particular thing I do ritualistically. I do the same thing every day. I get up. Drink a lot of water. Have a wheatgrass shot. Drink some green juice. Eat as healthy as I can. I’m not trying to win an award for being the best vegetarian, just want to be healthy. Take a salt bath. Do things that my parents were never able to do. I’m blessed to do anything I want so I decide to take the best care of my body and my family in the same way. Holistically. Vitally.”

Erykah Badu, in an interview with Huffington Post, when asked how she kept herself “centered” and “grounded” when her schedule lends to anything but.  Badu has been using greens and grains to keep her center and every other part of her body healthy since the late 90s.
