The Maryland Renaissance festival has arrived, and rocker Joan Jett has penned a letter to officials in the state she grew up in, asking them to nix the traditional elephant and camel rides.

“Unlike musicians such as me, these wild animals do not choose to perform. In the desert, where they belong, camels live in social herds,” Jett said.

Misterwives is the band behind “Vagabond,”  the theme song to the MTV series Finding Carter (which happens to have vegan actress Kathryn Prescott in the leading role).

Singer Mandy Lee has been a vegan for six years and she and the guys from her band went in the kitchen with PETA 2 to make some music and some plant-based food.

She simply had to reflect on her own passion for animal welfare.

Filmed in Spain, the video depicts a man hanging out with his best friend, a dog.

The two are seen enjoying peaceful moments outdoors and car rides in a quiet, country-like setting.

The end of the video is a message all canines with a human friend can agree on: Your dog just wants to be with you.

Colbie Caillat took to her Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts to express her sentiments on the marine park SeaWorld.

The singer known for hits like “I Do” wore a “SeaWorld Kills” t-shirt made by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Caillat, a vegan who’s also called for the end of animal-tested cosmetics in the United States, got nothing but rave reviews from the group for her fashion choice.
