Dallas

The characters of TNT’s revival of the 20-year old CBS television series Dallas have finally returned to screen.

A lot has changed since the 80s and 90s. People are eating better. Being fuel efficient. And there’s no reason why J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman) and his brother Bobby (Patrick Duffy), his son John Ross (Josh Henderson) and his cousin Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe) should be doing anything different.

Bobby’s adopted son has even established an alternative fuel company.

Chace Crawford

“My father was a farmer. He taught me a lot. He was a good business man, ran a great farm. He refused to plant GMO seeds (genetically modified). But the neighboring farmer did, and his seeds blew into our farm. Dad sued and lost his farm after an expensive lawsuit with the biggest GMO manufacturing company. They were crooks.”

Chace Crawford‘s character Cole, in the film Peace, Love and Misunderstanding. Cole is a butcher dating a vegetarian who is disgusted that he “dismembers animals for a living.” Cole thinks he can make up for the loss of his father’s farm by butchering local meat and supporting local farmers, a move that softens even his vegetarian girlfriend’s heart (Elizabeth Olsen).

Sometimes truth is more of a pain to organic farmers than fiction. Planting crops beside a conventional farm that uses GMOS can and does cause contamination, risking the organic farmer’s certification and livelihood.

Chace Crawford plays a butcher named Cole in a film about an uptight, conservative lawyer Diane (Catherine Keener) who pays a visit to her hippie mother (Jane Fonda) she hasn’t seen in two decades.

Diane has a daughter Zoe (Elizabeth Olsen) who apparently takes after grandma, as she’s vegetarian, but still falls for Cole.

Unfortunately vegetarian ladies, although Crawford doesn’t butcher in real life, you’d have to be a Zoe to fall for him because he does eat meat. But the film did make him explore the idea of where it comes from.

Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman is gearing up for the third season of Through The Wormhole, a series on Science that explores the many relationships between science, philosophy, mankind and the universe.

Freeman narrates each episode and tonight he’ll guide viewers through the question of whether a superior race exists.

Some say humans are so intelligent because their ancestors ate meat, which provided nutrients essential for brain development. This theory will be covered, as Freeman explained.

“We discuss the idea of a superior race coming here,” he said in an interview with The Wrap. “Professor Michio Kaku has an interesting discussion on it. Intelligence apparently requires an enormous amount of protein. Which is why we eat meat. Instead of being vegetarians. We have this enormous brain capacity.”

But when asked if meat eaters were still intellectually superior, Freeman was hesitant.

Oliver Stone

Oliver Stone is a U.S. military veteran who, although is proud to have served his country, could be a little happier knowing it didn’t use animals for experiments that could be carried out without them.

Army officials for Fort Bragg, Carolina have planned to purchase goats for training drills that result in the animals being killed.

Oliver took some time to respond to this decision, urging the military to reconsider it.
