Venus Williams Serves Vegan Goodies At EleVen Clothing Party

Venus Williams hosted a garden party for her sportswear clothing line for men and women, EleVen.

The Wall Street Journal reports there were vegan protein bars and other animal-free treats served at the event, including refreshments from the company she is a franchise owner of, Jamba Juice.

Fox News simply puts one of them in the category of “9 Athletes on Weird Diets,” but you may be pleasantly surprised to hear there are several potential Olympian champions who follow a vegetarian or mostly plant-based diet.

Venus Williams has had more than a few stumbling blocks lately in her career. Recovering from an ankle injury and living with Sjogren’s syndrome, an autoimmune disease that causes pain in the joints, she’s had to make a few adjustments in life, especially in her diet.

It’s a good thing she has the support of sister Serena Williams, who’s even willing to give up chicken to avoid eating it in front of Venus now that she’s adopted a vegan diet to help with the autoimmune condition.
