Quantcast Vegetarian Starvegan chocolate

Weatherman Dave Price from “The Early Show” got early sweet tooth satisfaction after he sampled an array of chocolate on the show.

Wanting to share the goodness with his family, Price began putting some in his pockets. When he sampled the vegan chocolates, he decided the fam needed to try some of those as well, agreeing with Harry Smith that it melts best in your mouth and “not in your pocket.”

The wonderful thing about chocolate is that the product itself is naturally vegan. Pick a good company that starts with the fair-traded dark deliciousness, sweetens with natural sugar and adds either vegan milk or none at all and you’ve got yourself a good deal.

Plamil Chocolate is a good vegan candidate for you and the family, as it’s organic, vegan and fair-traded. Many of the Endangered Species Dark Chocolates are vegan, organic, gluten-free and ethically traded, with 10% of the profits supporting organizations that help species, humans and both of their habitats.

Rachael Ray Features Vegan Rescue Chocolate “Snack Of The Day”

Is it us, or is Rachael Ray‘s snacks on the “Snack of the Day” feature on her website getting more vegan friendly?

Yesterday, Rachael featured the very animal friendly chocolate company, Rescue Chocolate.

In an effort that was probably meant to honor her dog, Isaboo, Rachael chose Peanut Butter Pit Bull Chocolate Bars as the snack that day.

The bars, like every candy at Rescue Chocolate, are vegan and all net profits from Rescue Chocolate sales go to animal rescue organizations.

Recently, Rachael has featured vegan gummy bear candy and gelatin-free vegan marshmallows as snacks of the day.

Oh, to be the best friend of Jane Velez-Mitchell, who sent her favorite people some chocolate without the butter, milk and or egg.

“Sent vegan Chocolates to the Atlanta crew for Xmas – so far they’re getting rave reviews!”

Unfortunately, not everyone works with Jane and the rest of vegans are left to fend for themselves when the cravings attack.

Instead of giving in to Snickers or the closest available piece of candy you’ll gobble down so fast you’ll forget you’re cheating, invest a little time in learning some brands of vegan chocolates.

There are brands you might not suspect to be vegan, like Trader Joe’s chocolate chips or some of Newman’s Own Chocolate Bars.

Other brands specifically market themselves as vegan like Endangered Species Dark Chocolate or Plamill Organic Vegan Chocolate.

Raiding Jane’s candy jar hidden in her file cabinet would probably be a great place too, but most of us will never experience that option.
