Larry Hagman

Larry Hagman is one of the veterans returning to the revival of Dallas. At 80-years old, some may wonder if the actor who plays a successful oil tycoon, can keep up with the pace 20 years later.

There will be no replacement for J.R. Ewing anytime soon, as he assured, “Actors can’t retire. If I make it another ten years, I’ll be 90 years old!”

Must be those kale, spinach and cucumber drinks his personal vegan chefs concocts.

Dallas

The characters of TNT’s revival of the 20-year old CBS television series Dallas have finally returned to screen.

A lot has changed since the 80s and 90s. People are eating better. Being fuel efficient. And there’s no reason why J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman) and his brother Bobby (Patrick Duffy), his son John Ross (Josh Henderson) and his cousin Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe) should be doing anything different.

Bobby’s adopted son has even established an alternative fuel company.

Larry Hagman Solar Energy Ads For Solar World (Video)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, August 27th, 2010 in Actors, Business, Environment-Eco-Green, Household, Videos.

Larry Hagman played a character completely opposite of himself in the prime time television soap opera series, Dallas. J.R. Ewing was an oil baron while Hagman is as green as green can be, following a vegetarian diet and running his home on solar power. Hagman stars in a series of advertisements for Solar World, a manufacturer for solar panels.

Ironically, one of the ads plays on Hagman’s role as Ewing, when it has Hagman saying, “In the past, it was always about the oil. The oil was flowing and so was the money…I quit years ago. But I’m still in the energy business. There’s always a better alternative. Shine, baby shine.”

Solar World manufactures solar panels for both homes and business and government. It employs over 2,700 people, has manufacturing facilities in both USA and Germany and sales offices around the world. More ads can be viewed below.

Larry Hagman, Hall Of Fame Honoree, Spent $1 Million Going Solar

30th Anniversary Reunion Of

Larry Hagman, the actor who became famous for playing J.R. on Dallas, is set to be inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame, along with other celebrities like Billy Bob Thorton, Powers Boothe, and Catherine Hardwicke.

We think it’s time we put him in our little green veggies hall of fame.

Hagman is a vegetarian who is really into solar energy. Like, to the tune of a million dollars that he invested to make his homes run on that sunny stuff!

According to Coolerplanet.com, his 25,000 square foot residence gives him an annual energy bill of only $13.

He’s shares his goodies, too.

Since his system provides more than what’s necessary to power his pad, he also supplies solar power to five neighboring homes.

A healthy eater, environmentally conscious, and giving all in one package. Not hard to understand why his wife of 54 years, Maj, has stuck around for this long. You’d be hard pressed to find a man this good, ladies.

Congrats to Larry! Keep up the green work!
