Joaquin Phoenix recently retired from the acting business to concentrate on a career in singing. But is it really singing?

This video shows Joaquin…rapping? Is a vegan Vanilla Ice in the making?

Phoenix and fellow vegan buddy Casey Affleck were at the LAVO club at The Palazzo in Las Vegas recently, where Phoenix sure looked a hell of a lot different than he did back in his younger Christmas video making days.

Before his gansta performance, Phoenix enjoyed a specially prepared vegan meal in the LAVO private room.

We asked you before if you thought Joaquin would do well as a singer. Here’s your chance to re-judge his abilities.

Can’t believe this pretty boy face is retiring from the big screen! Joaquin Phoenix stars in a Christmas video for PETA UK. The holiday jingle played in the background is bright and cheery as he passes the produce, but soon takes a very different tune in the turkey section.

So vegan actor Joaquin Phoenix has decided to retire from the film industry and pursue a career in singing. Seems like lots of stars are diversifying their resumes lately.

Joaquin Phoenix has left the building. Well, the director’s building, that is. After over two decades of acting, the Golden Globe winner wants to concentrate on his singing career. His veganness may give him an advantage.

Many singers refrain from dairy before a performance, saying it creates mucous and clogs their pipes. Some in the medical profession disagree, but those who follow the practice would bet a record contract on it.

Vegan actress and singer Portia White (who co-produced an animal rights film Phoenix narrated, Earthlings) once remarked how she noticed less problems with sinus and congestion hindering her voice once she made the transition to completely vegan.

Wishing him well on his vocal endeavors, everyone take a deep breath and sing, “Do Re Mi Fa So La Milk No.”

Joaquin Phoenix was raised vegan by his parents and for the most part, never disobeyed. However, like many young adolescent boys and girls with much bravado, every once in awhile he rebelled and went against mom and dad’s teachings, dabbling in dairy here and there. One such rebellious act taught him an important lesson.

He was eating at a friend’s house and everyone else was having cheese pizza.

“They got pizza, and I was like, ‘I’m having some motherf**king pizza.'”

Unfortunately, it was the pizza that had him.

“I ate two slices and vomited for two days.”

This was his first and only experience eating pizza with dairy cheese on it. He actually craves salads and vegetables and doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, which he says makes him a “parent’s dream.”

Well, maybe not always a vegan parent’s dream. But some youngsters have to learn lessons the hard way.
