Tom Parker Bowles, the son of the Duchess of Cornwall, has ticked off quite a few vegan parents for criticizing their decision to raise their kids as such.

The author of The Year of Eating Dangerously, who’s admitted to eating dog, cobra and foie gras, said on an episode of UK’s ITV’s This Morning that, “‘All these ridiculous hippies who bang on and tell us that we shouldn’t be eating this, we should be eating vegan raw diets…for children, that’s child abuse, I think.'”

And unless the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP designs an overhaul that both encourages and makes it feasible to eat well on a vegetarian or vegan diet, all the banning of sodas and chips won’t do much for the country’s poor.

But Michaels makes some good points.
