In the good ol’ days, fresh milk was delivered to your doorstep that came from a cow in someone’s backyard that roamed freely and wasn’t on any numerous “roids” designed to get her pumping faster.

Those days are gone, but Vegetarian Star is putting a twist on milk delivery in 2010.

Get soymilk delivered to your door. Enter the contest to win one of four coupons for a free carton of Earth Balance’s new vegan, organic, non-GMO Project Verified soymilk that comes in original, chocolate, vanilla and unsweetened.

The coupon doesn’t get any fresher, as it’s hand delivered by the mailman (or mailwoman). You still have to (hopefully, in the interest of being green) bike or walk to Whole Foods to redeem it though.

New Yorkers and people from all over the globe will be headed out to their city’s destination for celebrations designed to rev up the fashion industry by encouraging consumers to get out and buy during the annual Fashion’s Night Out on September 10, 2010.

New York city’s Fashion’s Night Out will feature some green events, like it did last year when the Stella McCartney store offered vegetarian food.

Vegan cosmetic creator and model Josie Maran will be at the Sephoria’s Fifth Avenue Boutique giving mini makeovers and meet and greets to visitors.

Lady Gaga‘s latest publicity stunt is to get down and dirty with raw meat on the cover on September’s Vogue Hommes Japan.

Ingrid Newkirk, president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has to say.

“Oh, Lady Gaga’s job is to do outlandish things, and this certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body.”

Corinne Bailey Rae revealed to Afro she has a thing for ethical clothing and food. The “Put Your Records On” singer likes Stella McCartney fashion and loves making vegetarian chili at home.

“I like to cook stews and things, dishes where the heat does all the work. So, it’s just like chopping and flavoring. Veggie chili would be my favorite thing to cook because it’s really great but not much work.”

How much work goes into chili really depends on what you put in it. The self-proclaimed Best Vegetarian Chili In The World recipe has a 15 minute prep time and incorporates several types of beans, corn and other veggies and vegetarian burger crumbles.

For even less work, buy an already made veggie chili by a company known for producing meatless delights like Amy’s Kitchen canned vegetarian chili or Lightlife’s Smart Chili in a microwaveable bag.
