French Actress Marion Cotillard Admires Vegan Natalie Portman

80th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Natalie Portman has gained admiration by French actress Marion Cotillard for her commitment to being cruelty free and environmentally friendly when designing her shoes from the Té Casan line.

Cotillard, who is the first person to win an Oscar for a French-language performance, as Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose was asked in the September/October 2008 issue of French magazine Néoplanète if she planned to develop a similar eco-friendly brand.

“That’s not a priority. But I admire Natalie’s commitment a lot. If I had to do something remarkable for the planet, I’d buy fields where [there]are grown OMG (transgenic plants). Once bought, I’d redistribute them to farmers who would commit themselves to grow in danger local vegetables!”

Apparently, she’s not the only one who admires Natalie. A whopping 63% of you would rather have veggie burger lunch with Natalie vs. Carrie Underwood! And you can still show your love for Portman or Underwood. The poll is still open. Go practice some veggie democracy!

Imogen Bailey poses for PETA Ad

One vegetarian star is retiring from the film business, one is hoping to make her debut.

Imogen Bailey is looking to launch a career as an actress.

The vegetarian model has graced the cover of several magazines, including Ralph, FHM, ZOO Weekly, Playboy and Black+White Magazine.

She’s also competed in reality TV shows, including “Celebrity Big Brother” and “Celebrity Survivor”, where she won third place.

Perhaps our favorite modeling gigs she’s done are the ones for PETA, such as the one pictured here.

Not to mention she’s super-smart, participated in some highly intelligent nerdy after school activities, and had plans to go to law school. “As a little girl I wanted to be a lawyer. I loved debating and was on all the debating teams,” she told the Sydney Morning Herald.

Loved debating and arguing? No wonder she’s so opinionated and has no problem lending herself to animal rights organizations. At home, she shares space with three Maltese terriers and describes each of them “deaf,” “blind,” and “pure evil.”

House Oversight Committee investigates AIG in Washington

“I don’t believe that you can tell anyone what to eat. I think it’s the worst thing in the world to start to tell people—to start to dictate—choices of food. You just can’t do that. But you can show people that if they make choices in a certain way, healthy choices, it might improve the environment. It’s an educational process.”

—-Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), in an interview with VegNews Magazine. The vegan congressman has just earned his seventh consecutive Congressional win this month and boy, has he been busy during his terms.

He’s worked towards food safety, better agricultural practices, and made sure more funds were available to enforce the Animal Welfare Act, among other things.

Like Moby, he thinks you can talk the talk, but not force the walk. Who would’ve thought a suit wearing politician in D.C. and a singer living in New York City’s Little Italy would have so much in common?

YES! on Prop 2 Campaign to stop Animal Cruelty Event - Beverly Hills, CA

Ellen DeGeneres went to Sin City to film her upcoming show on TBS, “Ellen’s Even Bigger Really Big Show,” which will air on November 29th.

It’s a followup to last year’s show “Ellen’s Really Big Show.” and features various performing acts in different genres, such as comedy and music.

She may be happy that what she eats stays in Vegas, cause it doesn’t look like she had a lot to choose from.

She jokingly said that one of her “favorite” things to do in Vegas is eat at buffets because now that she’s vegan, she just eats the salad and gets a bargain.
