Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez is one pop diva who’ll be requesting many more veggie items for her backstage stock in the future.

It appears that Jenny has discovered the best things “from the block” are the ones that come from the ground.

The 44-year old told New York radio station Z100: ”Being vegan, it’s basically no diary, no meat, everything is plant based and from the ground. Butter is the one thing I miss!”

Premiere Of CBS Films' The Back-up Plan - Arrivals

Jennifer Lopez‘s new movie, The Backup Plan, has two incredible eco and animal rights themes included in the story line.

Lopez’s character Zoe, is a single woman who gets artificially inseminated only to discover the man of her dreams in a taxi days later.

Zoe has just left her corporate job to take over a pet shop that sold her a disabled dog that came from a puppy mill.

Her true love Stan, played by Alex O’Loughlin, has turned his family farm into an organic one and sells his cheese products at the farmers market.

An animal welfare champ and a locavore getting together to raise a child?

We can smell a protest coming from the crib already.

According National Geographic, buying from a puppy mill is more likely to result in an animal that will need urgent veterinary care for a genetic disease it’s carrying, amplified by inbreeding. These diseases may not surface until several years into its life.

It’s also common to see chronic infections in these animals, such as in the ears and eyes, that can lead to blindness and deafness.

Catherine Zeta Jones Tops PETA Worst Dressed Celebrity List

Broadway Opening Of "A Little Night Music" - After Party

Catherine Zeta Jones has been named Worst Dressed Celebrity of 2010 by animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Catherine won the dishonor for her collections of fur and other animal hide attire.

In a statement to Access Hollywood, PETA said, ““With her creepy cow-skin pants, ugly fox coat, and icky alligator bag, Catherine Zeta-Jones looks like she’s working her way through Noah’s ark with a knife. Maybe she’s trying to get into character for an upcoming role as a serial killer — or a taxidermist.”

Do you agree with PETA’s top pick?

Or should it have been Jennifer Lopez, who PETA nicknamed “Jenny from the Butcher block.”
