Billy Corgan Says Happiness Is Chocolate Vegan Milkshake

Written by Vegetarian Star on Thursday, April 29th, 2010 in Celebrity Tweets, Food & Drink, Male Musicians.

LAKERS VS ROCKETS

Billy Corgan was in deep thought recently when he pondered the true meaning of happiness.

After about 30 seconds, he discovered it, and decided to share on Twitter.

“Happiness is: to thy own-Self be true.”

Later that afternoon he realized that being true involves whipped soy milk and cocoa..

“Actually, happiness IS: to thine own Self be true + a chocolate vegan milkshake!”

Never lose sight of the dream Billy!

Singer Billy Corgan and former drummer Jimmy Chamberlin of the Smashing Pumpkins have reunited. But only to speak out against Kentucky Fried Chicken.

The two musicians have become the latest celebrities to sign the petition against KFC due to the manner in which the company treats its chickens before and during slaughter.

Crammed cages with no room to move around, beaks cut off baby birds, and being held upside down with their throats slits are just a few of the ways PETA says KFC inhumanely raises and kills birds that later show up on the menu.

Jimmy recently announced his departure from the band, leaving Billy the last man standing.

The two follow the footsteps of many celebrities that have chosen to speak out against KFC, including Pamela Anderson, Rise Against, and Russell Simmons

Smashing Pumpkins Play Sydney

A vegan restaurant in downtown Portland is closing because the owner feels there’s too much crime in the area. After listening to some of the stories, well…we can’t say we disagree.

Sex offenders beating people up, drug dealers dividing their “goodies” (which were probably vegan but still illegal) on tables outside the restaurant, repeated robberies, harassment consisting of salami being left at the doorstep, and screaming meth addicts walking past is more than enough for anyone to say, “Let’s take this vegan shop elsewhere.”

The Veganopolis has been a favorite for Portland vegheads since 2005 and many celebrities have stopped by including Chrissie Hynde, Smashing Pumpkins, and Joan Jett.

Interestingly enough, Chrissie Hynde has discussed the fact that her vegan restaurant, The Vegiterranean is located in a not so Brady Bunch part of Akron, Ohio, and she has expressed extreme interest in helping to revitalize her hometown.

Veganopolis sold 14,008 spelt chocolate chip cookies, 7970 veganopolis rubens, 5645 roasted eggplant salads, and 5952 democracy (veggie) burgers.

Although it’s sad to see this veg restaurant couldn’t make it, we give hats off to other efforts that are being made to bring better options, food and otherwise, into every neighborhood.
