Welcome To Gulu Exhibition Opening

Alec Baldwin was the honorary auction host at the EcoFabulous in the East End dinner and silent auction which benefited Group for the East End, an environmental group that works to protect and restore the environment in Eastern Long Island.

Alec filled up that evening with a vegan salad appetizer, which was prepared by local chefs, with local food to keep the theme green.

While auctioning off a stay at Casa de Campo, a Dominican Republic resort with three golf courses, Alec made a joke that the best way to preserve green space is to turn them into golf courses.

Ha, haaaa, Alec!

We’re sure Baldwin’s combined humor and the cause the East End Group works towards made the evening a blast.

Chace Crawford Sexes Up Big Macs: How Unsexy!

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, May 27th, 2009 in Actors, Food & Drink, Not So Vegetarian.

2009 CW Upfronts in NYCWe learned earlier that Gossip Girl Jessica Szohr partook in some serious hamburger whoredom after taking a decade vow of meat celibacy.

We were disappointed this ex-vegetarian was so delighted at tasting meat in 10 years that she described it as “orgasmic,” so it comes as an even bigger blow that another Gossip Girl star, Chace Crawford, has also recently expressed his love for a Big Mac.

In the June issue of InStyle magazine, Chace was quoted as saying, “There’s nothing sexier than a Big Mac. I don’t eat a lot of them, but it’s just a whole complete package.”

Just what is so sexy about grilled bloody flesh, cholesterol card carrying mayonnaise, and a slice of cheese manufactured from milk taken from a whored-out dairy cow that will ultimately get the ax once a younger, sexier heifer who can birth a calf and produce milk comes along?

If you hear the gossip as to why the cast is so darn carnivorous, let us know.

Owen Wilson Ticks Off Unlucky Vegan Duck By Cutting In Line

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, May 22nd, 2009 in Actors, Food & Drink.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian screening in Washington.

We are happy actor Owen Wilson was spotted shopping at One Lucky Duck, an organic, raw foods establishment with a restaurant, juice bar, and much more.

We’re unsure if Owen was grabbing grub or juice when he bypassed the takeout line to place his order, but apparently this made someone else waiting in line steaming broccoli mad.

Hey, movie stars need their raw fix more, okay. It’s a stressful world out there. Don’t prove Margaret Cho right about angry vegans, now.

Christian Bale No Longer Vegetarian: Vampire Cravings Got To Him

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, May 20th, 2009 in Actors, Not So Vegetarian.

Premiere of the Warner Bros movie Terminator SalvationIn a recent interview with GQ magazine, Dark Night Terminator dude Christian Bale has admitted to some less than vegetarian ways.

Bale failed to pay his membership dues to the veg club shortly after completing filming for American Psycho.

The bodybuilding and unbuilding you’ve done for your roles is alarming—the former all the more so for its being accomplished without any animal protein.
Actually, I’m in and out of the vegetarianism now. But yeah, the majority of the building up you’re talking about was done when I was still a vegetarian.

Dietary reasons? Or something to do with the character?
I was up in Toronto and went to see that movie Life Is Beautiful. By myself. And when I came out, I had a craving for blood unlike anything I had ever experienced since I decided to go vegetarian at the age of 7. It was a compulsion. It was undeniable. I went to several restaurants, one right after the other, and got the biggest, bloodiest steaks I could get my hands on. It was the first time I had tasted flesh in almost twenty years.

Argh! Life is beautiful, but not so much for animals when Christian gets his vampire cravings for bloody steak.

Why the change of heart (less), man?

Tom Cruise Orders Veg Plate At White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, May 11th, 2009 in Actors, Food & Drink.

Tom Cruise at Valkyrie premiere, JapanSaturday night’s White House Correspondents’ dinner brought many celebrities to the table, including Eva Longoria, Natalie Portman, and actor Tom Cruise.

Not even the Secret Service can prevent the gossip columnists from getting the dish on what people ate, and it was reported that Cruise ordered the vegetarian entree.

Does this mean Tom of Tomkat is going veg?

If so, we’ll go on Oprah and jump on the couch with him as he exclaims, “I love this diet Oprah. I love this diet so much.”

We would never veg OUT someone like PerezHilton.com does, but our speculations were right on target for Ginnifer Goodwin after it was discovered she had a habit of picking up food from Vegan Glory.

Tom is so vocal, if he does go veg, we’ll all know soon.

Hugh Jackman Going To Hell For Eating Too Many Chickens

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009 in Actors, Food & Drink, Not So Vegetarian.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine screening
Hugh Jackson needed to get buffed up for his role as Wolverine in the new X-Men movie.

So what did he start eating a zillion times a day? Lots of pasta? Hemp protein powder? Not exactly. That’s why he definitely wants you to know he’s not vegan.

He was recently in Hollywood getting his hands and footprints immortalized in the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, when he told a reporter of his dieting plan.

“Let me tell you, I’m not vegan. I ate so many chickens to make this body. If there is a place in hell for people who eat chickens, I have booked a suite bigger than anybody.”

Say hello to Colonel KFC for us, Hugh.

Corey Feldman’s Grandparents Thought Vegetarianism Was Nuts!

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, March 25th, 2009 in Actors, Animal Issues.

Premiere Of Walt Disney Pictures Race To Witch Mountain - Arrivals

Actor Corey Feldman has some genes that make him love animals, as his mother was an animal rights advocate. Good for him for having such a compassionate mother, because grandma and grandpa thought vegetarianism was just plain tipesh!

Note: Hebrew vocab 101. Tipesh is the word for dumb, idiot, stupid…you get the point.

From an interview with Look To The Stars.org:

“By the time I was 10 years old, I was resigned to the fact the I wanted to be a vegetarian for the rest of my life. However, growing up in a strict family environment, my grandparents where old Jewish traditional type people and thought I was crazy for wanting to be a vegetarian. It took until I was about 13 years old when I made the decision to be a strict vegetarian… and have been every since, and it’s been about 24 years for me now.”

Growing up, Feldman and his mother had as many as 50 animals living with them on their ranch as a result of their obsessive dog and cat rescuing tendencies.

Nowadays, Corey lists animal rights organizations such as the Humane Society, PETA, Farm Sanctuary, and Last Chance For Animals as his top choice for charities.

Visit LookToTheStars.org for the entire interview with Corey.
