Quantcast Vegetarian StarPiggy Bank From Real Pig Latest From Vancouver Pig Entrepreneurs

In news of sick, disgusting and what a stupid idea, we bring you the latest product of Van Couver entrepreneurs TheCheeky.com.

A piggy bank made from a real pig is available for $4,000, but so far, no one is rushing to stand in line to purchase it like the Tickle Me Elmo annoyance who inhaled too much laughing gas years ago.

“We’ve had a few emails today saying some not very nice things to us,” said Ryan McCormick, one of two entrepreneurs behind the online shop. “Some death threats and many calling us disgusting pigs.”

“This is such an insensitive, callous thing to be promoting this for the holiday season,” said Jenelle Petrinchuck, a spokeswoman for the Winnipeg Humane Society, who’s organized an online campaign to remove the item from the website.

The Cheeky insists all pigs died from “natural” causes. The average pig’s life span in the wild is about 25 years. Unless these guys waited outside a retirement home for Miss Piggy in Florida, it’s difficult to fathom how they get so many piglets dropping off from “natural” causes.

The piggy bank is just one of several controversial and bad ideas from the company, which include large luggage stickers that made it look as if travelers were carrying bags stuffed with the following:

  • Cocaine
  • U.S. Currency
  • Sex Toys
  • Bound and Gag Flight Attendant

These stickers got a reprimand from the Federal Transport Minister of Canada, saying they were “not funny” and pressured them to stop selling these as well.
